So confused by BBT, LH, OPKs, spotting & symptoms

Long post, please bear with me. I am so confused.

So. This is my second time TTC but my first time using an app and OPKs to try and track my cycles. The app I am using is Premom and the OPKs I am using are Easy @ Home.

The date of my last period was the 21st December and it ended on the 27th. The app said that my next fertile window would begin on the 12th January with ovulation on the 17th. On the 7th and 8th I had very light spotting, which I assumed was bleeding associated with ovulation. The OPKs also suggested that my LH was rising. I also had sore boobs, light cramping and bad headaches. However, the LH never peaked or reached the same highs as it did during my precious cycle.

During this time, I had unprotected sex 9th, 16th, and 18th (but only the 16th would have counted).

My period was projected to begin on the 31st January. It has yet to appear and I would be 8 days late. My headaches, stomach cramps, and sore boobs have got worse, especially the boobs and headaches. I have done a handful of pregnancy tests, but they were negative, irrefutably so.

However, when I entered more data into the app, it moved my fertile window to the week after, so from the 20th to the 25th. I did not have unprotected sex during this new window, and nor did any OPK detect a surge.

My revised period is now due, except it still hasn't arrived. I have had light spotting today though, very light. Tissue only, nothing on underwear.

I have also been experiencing nausea, hot flashes, fatigue, dizziness, phantom smells, affected taste, abdomen spasms, increased CM, and mood swings and a variable appetite - I was ravenous and now I am disinterested in food.

I just don't understand. It can't be implantation bleeding, so could I be ovulating very late, despite no surge? Has anyone anovulated and experienced light bleeding with very sore boobs etc? Is there anything else that could be going on?

Thank you in advance. I don't mind not being pregnant, I just hate not understanding my body and feeling a bit in limbo.

Is there any way to add screen shots? I have been somewhat tracking my BBT but I don't understand what the chart means and was wondering if someone more experienced may be able to help me interpret.

Are you new @PASB15 ? if so you can't post photos for 48h I think it is.

Opks can be a bit unpredictable in my experience, they work well for some people but not so well for others. Some cycles I seem to get a really clear 'peak' for 24h and other cycles I barely reach it, or I miss it! I find BBT much more reliable, do you track this too?

Just wanted to add also, I experience spotting on ovulation and I get sore boobs the day after. Could your body have tried to ovulate, failed and is perhaps now trying again? That happened to me the first cycle I used opks because I was stressing over it.

Thank you for replying!

Yes I am new! Will upload later.

The first time I conceived, although we were trying, it was a surprise as I caught before I had period following having my coil removed. So this is all new to me.

I didn't know it was possible for the body to attempt a second ovulation. I feel like I need a medical degree to understand how cycles work!

I have noticed that my LH levels are generally low, but all over the place. Even on the same day, I might get two very different results.

@PASB15 same! 😅 My levels fluctuate a lot and my temps seem to do the same.

I am by all means no expert, only been TTC for 5 months, using OPK's and temping for 2.

I'd really recommend the fertility friend app! It helps with recognising signs of ovulation and keeping track.
