Bicornuate uterus

Hello,

I have been told I have a partial bicornuate uterus. I obviously have googled this (a lot) and am aware of the problems this can cause with pregnancy, miscarriage, delivery etc.

I have been TTC for 15 months and not yet fallen pregnant. I have had a blood test and Hycosy and my partner has had a sperm test and so far everything is fine. I wondered if anyone knows of bicornuate uterus causing any problems conceiving? My gynocolagist is adamant is doesn't effect conceiving and can just cause problems once you have conceived however I feel like it could be a reason why I am not getting pregnant? Does anyone have a similar experience or know anything I can do to better my chances with a bicornuate uterus?

It's not impossible but it can reduce chances a bit depending on how complete the septum is. It's theoretically possible that on any given cycle all the sperm could end up in one half of the uterus and the egg in the other. Unlikely though. I would listen to your specialist. If you don't conceive within a reasonable timeframe they'll know what the best next steps are

Hey I have a bicornuate uterus and both the lady that came across it and my doctor said it would not affect my chances of conceiving or increase the likelihood of early miscarriage but it may cause complications in later pregnancy, slightly increase the chance of late miscarriage (but I'd be closely monitored to try and avoid this) and I'd potentially be more likely to have a c section if I get pregnant 🤷‍♀️ the doctor said plenty of people don't even know if they have a bicornuate uterus till they give birth so 🤞 for us both x

Thank you both! Yes I also heard a lot of women don't know they even have it so I guess it can't cause that many issues for everyone that has it!!
