TTC vs vaccination

Hi - this is a rarely used nn but I am a long term MNer. I’ll be 40 in May, and I have 2 kids, just turned 4 and just turned 2. Both born via IVF, and I have 4 genetically tested embryos left in the freezer. Both DCs were successful IVF transfers and so there’s no reason to believe a third transfer wouldn’t be successful first time round.

We would like to have a third baby, but I would really like to keep the gap between DC2&3 less than 3 years for a number of reasons - it’s a nice gap, I am not getting any younger, and also if we leave it much longer I might change my mind Grin as we get further away from the baby phase. In my mind I’d like to be done by the time I’m 41.

Normally we’d just go to the clinic and do a transfer, but one thing that’s playing on my mind is that I am due to get the vaccine probably in June/July and I’m wondering if I should wait for that (which really means waiting til Sep/Oct) given the likelihood of vaccine passports etc. And then of course if I wait til Sep /Oct that’ll be a summer baby which really doesn’t matter too much but the one advantage of likely to be successful ivf is that you really can time it!

Has anyone thought about ttc now vs waiting? Interested in views.

If i was you I'd just crack on with IVF. I've had my first vaccine and were TTC now. I'm due to get my second vaccine next month and this is only our first month of trying so I'm sure I won't be pregnant but if I am I'll have a risk assessment as I'm a dental nurse so a high risk job. You can have the vaccine while pregnant it's just got to be approved. There's also a chance that you might not get the vaccine in the summer so that's another delay again. The guidance has changed so you don't have to wait the 3 months after getting the vaccine to get pregnant as well.

Sorry hope this has helped a little x
