Recurrent Miscarriage

Hi,

I am looking for recommendations for a private miscarriage clinic in the Midlands area. I have seen lots of reviews of London clinics but its a little too far to travel.

I am currently being seen in Tommys clinic in Coventry, and although they are great, with it being the NHS everything takes so much longer....

I am currently on miscarriage number 7, all before 12 weeks and with all blood tests normal I am a little desperate. I have been prescribed progesterone pessaries but miscarried while on this on the 7th time.

Any help appreciated

Hi there, I'm afraid I don't know of any clinics in the Midlands (I'm in London) but I just wanted to say I'm so sorry you've had such a hard time - I really hope you're doing ok. I've just gone through number five and it really doesn't get any easier. Take care xx

Hi WishingWaiting, thank you for your reply! I am wandering whether to just suck it up and travel to London...its only 2 hours ish haha

So sorry to hear you've been through 5 losses...you are totally right it never gets easier but some days are definitely better than others :)

Hope you are well xx

If you do decide to come down to London @Atlantis3587, happy to share my thoughts/experiences etc - I've seen one specialist here and am considering seeing another for a second opinion!

Hope you're doing ok xx

I'm sorry about your losses ❤️ I've had 4 losses and was under Tommy's in Birmingham (was referred after my second loss) but they offered no treatment because nothing showed with my bloods and I have had 2 losses under their care. I did go to the Coventry implantation clinic after my 3rd loss to look at uterine nk cells, but my count is normal and so they prescribed cyclogest but I miscarried on that too. My last baby was tested abc was genetically healthy and 3 of my losses have been MMCs with the baby stopping growing at 6 weeks but I don't miscarry until 9+. So it felt like there was a pattern, but this was dismissed by the nhs.

I am Midlands too but am now under the CRP Clinic in Surrey, Dr Shehata. He has diagnosed me with aggressive nk cells, so my body is essentially attacking the baby. I'm following an immune protocol now. It is a bit of a trek - about 6 hours all in for an appointment and it is expensive for the initial tests but we have finally been given a reason for our losses. I did look for a more local clinic or specialist but struggled to find one who is experienced in recurrent miscarriage.

Best wishes x

@WishingWaiting, thanks, if we decide to look further around I will definitely ask your recommendations :) Hope all goes well with your follow ups

@VenusStarr Thank you for your experience, I'm glad I'm not the only one struggling to find any reputable private clinics around here...it does look as if I'll have to try some further out.
I hope now you have a diagnosis and a new protocol that your next pregnancy will be a success...its so exhausting isn't it?! I would love just to be given some idea of what is wrong because after 7 losses I certainly feel there should be an answer out there!

My history certainly sounds similar to yours...
Thank you for your help xx

Hi @Atlantis3587 I have no advice but I wanted to say I’m sorry your going through this. I’ve just had loss number 8. It’s Damon hard physically and emotionally. Like you I miscarry early. Latest I got was 8 weeks. I do, however, have some hope to give you. I have an almost 8year old. She was born following the loss of her twin who was number 6. They were both preceded by loss number 5 the previous month. My consultant said number 5 and the twin paved the way for DD which I believe is to do with progesterone levels.
Anyway, I just wanted to send you a virtual hug and give you some hope.

@Penguinmumma

Its great to hear success stories! It actually gives me hope to carry on because sometimes you feel like its NEVER going to happen....

So Thank You :)
Best Wishes xxx
