Hi! I’m 35 and have been been TTC for a couple of years now. Only just plucked up the courage to do tests and see what’s going on. I’ve been told I have polycystic ovaries but not the syndrome as I don’t have any other symptoms. Anyone else been told the same and had success in conceiving naturally? Is it best to keep trying to go for IVF? So confused...help!! Confused

Not the same but didn't want to read and run. I have children. My problems started after. I have polycystic ovaries but not syndrome. But I do have symptoms, I get really bad pain in my ovaries when I have cysts (this is often and they can get quite big, one currently at about 6cm but won't do anything because of covid) I also feel sick, get full quick etc. Personally if it had effected fertility I would still look at IVF. Hopefully someone else will come along with experience from your side. Good luck

I had the same. Took 12 months to conceive my first, but then got pregnant 3 more times within a few months of trying, despite being over 30... My doctor said that without the syndrome it shouldn't be an issue.

Also, I'm similar age to you. Did take a long time to conceive first child, over a year, didn't have any tests, and possibly I had this condition then but no symptoms.

Same here, all bloods normal but lots of cysts on both ovaries between 20-30? Regular periods, been trying just over 2,5 years, currently on 4th cycle of clomid, first month all positive for ovulation, since then I haven't had any tests!

Baby dust!!

What is your LH / FSH ratio like OP? Do you have regular periods?

Gizmo16 · 20/01/2021 14:59

All regular - nothing else of concern has come up in any of my bloods and other tests. Regular periods every 32-33 days.

This is really encouraging to hear - thank you!

Thanks! I think I need to get some more opinions and research loads before deciding between Clomid first and then IVF or just IVF. Tbh I’ve been living with my head in the sand for the past two years so haven’t looked into much Sad

Hi,

Coming into this late but I've also just been told I have polycystic ovaries but not PCOS and I've been offered ovarian drilling, it might be worth looking into this before paying for IVF as it's a single procedure done under keyhole surgery.

We've been ttc for over a year and I am getting a laparoscopy to check for endo but during my initial consultation they noticed PCO during a scan.

The doc is going to do ovarian drilling when she does my laparoscopy so I'm hoping that may help, if not then I'll be into clomid or similar I think.

What I don't really understand is that from what I'm reading the drilling helps reduce the testosterone and encourage egg release....but I have regular periods, my ovulation tests and blood tests suggest I am ovulating and I don't have any of the other PCOS symptoms which I understand to be due to increased male hormones, so I don't know if this will help.

Does anyone know whether you have increased testosterone when you have PCO but not PCOS? Most of what I find online is about PCOS so hArd to figure it out.

I have PCOS and all the other related complications it brings but conceived naturally first time round for all DC.

Diagnosed with PCOS and hypothyroidism at the same time, conceived naturally 3 years later. And another one when DS was 2,5.

Hi all, I've been diagnosed with mild PCOS. That being said I've only had 1 period in 2021 . How long did it take for you to conceive naturally? I'm considering exploring fertility treatment..how does it work to get on some medication like clomid? How many cycles of clomid are you offered and what's the likelihood of falling pregnant in that cycle?
