Hi everyone,
A little advice please. I recently lost my baby at 4 months (December 29 2020). Baby has had a post mortem due to late misscarriage, we're waiting on P. M update to which we've been told can take 13 + weeks. I've had lots of blood test and having to go for another one tomorrow. So far their finding are a possible viral infection as infection markers were raised. I'm angry at myself, if it was a viral infection did I catch it from working in the hospital - my full time job.
When I was scanned to check baby they noticed I have a fibroid that's approx 12cm. I'm so worried now. I understand fibroids can shrink, degenerate when estrogen levels drop ( post partum/ menopause). I'm now 41 and still trying for a baby, devastated I've lost my little one, hoping and wishing I can try for another.( we had been trying for 6 months)
I'm now worried the fibroid may cause issues. I believe it's in my upper top right uterine wall, no growth within the endometrial cavity. I'm nagging and nagging Dr's and midwife to organise a scan to see if it has started to shrink. Now with covid I think it's going to be a while...time that I don't have on my side. I either wait a possible 13 weeks to meet with consultants regarding and findings with baby and my bloodwork.( The consultants will also write up a tailored care plan for any future pregnancy)
Or wait up to 5 months for a scan.. Or just start trying for a baby which would then push my consultant to scan and tailor me a care package if I'm lucky enough to fall pregnant in the time frame.
I really want to have a family with my partner, we're so desperate to have a little one, I just don't know what to do for the best.
Thanks guy's.

I'm so sorry for your loss ❤️ its really tough, I've had 4 losses now (all first trimester) and it's really hard to know when you're ready to try again.

I have multiple fibroids but have been assured that they have not been a factor in my miscarriages. You do need more information on its position - if its in the uterine cavity it can have an impact. Can you push your GP for a referral to gynaecology? I had my last loss in October and I was seen by the hospital gynae in December and was given the all clear. The gynaecologist might be able to offer some insight into the possible viral infection too.

I hope you are able to get answers soon. For us, having some answers and being supported (we've gone private now as the nhs didn't find answers for us), has helped us feel more comfortable trying again. Best wishes xx
