So i thought i would start a thread for anyone who is on the TTC 2021 journey. I was thinking more lighthearted fun and interesting. Having had a recent MMC my OH said if we were to TTC again soon we need to have fun with it more and not turn it into a chore when i was ovulating. So if you are also TTC or recently pregnant what are your tips to spicing it up, places you have DTD or even convieved. Also tips on how long it took you to concieve or help improve fertility x

Ah I didn't actually realise people could ovulate as late as CD 17, do you have long cycles? Maybe we aren't dtd frequently for long enough each month tbh. I've never tried OPKs and always been quite chill about TTC, however our circs have suddenly changed and now I really need to be pregnant ASAP and no later than July or we will need to put it on hold for a looong time. As I have had an amazing career opportunity offered to me but because of the training and study programme I need to be pregnant within the next few months to realistically fit a baby in before I would need to begin my full time study. And if I don't, I will need to put it on hold until well after I've finished all the years of training, which would mean a big age gap between DD and no.2 like 8-9yrs+ which is not what we want really but equally I've been applying for this career programme since late 2018 and finally got accepted and it's so competitive I really can't turn it down as may never get the opportunity again and it would really change our financial trajectory for the future massively. So I'm thinking maybe I need to start trying to track ovulation now because I feel like I am now in a rush to concieve. What are the easiest test kits for dummies?!

So I’m TTC my 3rd I’ve been doing OPK I’m supposed to ovulate on the 18th but my LH isn’t peaking o got of the depo shot (my last shot was in like Jun) and LH surged last month but I didn’t have my first period till this month and now my LH levels are even lower. I’m taking prenatal vitamins I stopped smoking and everything has anyone had luck getting pregnant sooner than later after being on the depo I know it can take up to 9 months rj start ovulating again but my levels peaked last moth but aren’t this month I don’t want to stress myself to the point I make it not happen. But anyone else had these issues? I’ve been watching my CM for over a month now and CP abd it’s been high and soft for weeks. It never came down for the crimson wave like all these things I’ve read said it would. My last child I got of BC and had two periods and was pregnant. All I did with that one was track my period and we just had sex everyday. We are a few years older now so that’s slowed a little since lately my drive is non existent. I don’t get it. Anyone got any good advice or can relate. I’m starting to feel a little defeated I’ve never had to try this hard. It’s my third. Any recommendations or just relatable story’s would be greatly appreciated.

Easy@home and using the premom app is what I’ve been using it’s so easy it reads the opk and tells you your numbers they have more sophisticated premom tests too the easy@home tests are way cheap u can buy on Amazon and when u sign up on the app u get a discount on your first 50opk/20 Pt so it’s a really good deal I think personally. My first two kids are 8.5 years apart it wasn’t what I thought tommy life would be but I have an 11 year old boy and 2 year old girl but they are absolutely best friends they are sooo close so iiiiffff it doesn’t happen for you by the time you want then I will say maybe I just got lucky but I think the age gap actually made them closer. I hope you the best for your journey and I hope you get pregnant ASAP for sure tho. I’m hoping the same for myself.

@marcella64 so my levels are super low at CD12 (today) I’m supposed to ovulate according to my app on CD15 but I’m thinking it’s not going to happen. We’re you “supposed” to peak at CD17 or was that just how it happened? Like I plan to just keep OPK testing and DTD until it happens but I have a 28 DC. How long is your cycle? Maybe I’m just a late egg dropper or something lol. I didn’t try this hard with either of my other two kids so I’m new to a lot of this. I’ve been tracking my CM and positioning and my cervix has been high and soft for almost three weeks before my period all thru my period and still currently. And it’s also been very soft. Everything I’ve read said it should have dropped so I’m super confused. 😕🤔🤯🤯🤯

I've uploaded my stats. So ovulating on day 18 gives me a good folical phase and then a good luteal phase to allow implantation. A short phase either side can release an egg that has not fully matured or not give enough time for full implantation.

Thanks ladies that's been really helpful. I was looking at ovusense and it looks good but it's so pricey and we aren't a high earning family by any means (we still get a bit of CTC for example) so v reluctant to spend that much.

I think really the issue is just not DTD enough though and that's my fault not DH's. I just find it so hard cos I really struggle with fatigue and I get lots of migraines in the evenings. But next month I'm really gonna try and be better cos now with the time pressure for me I really want to give it my best shot.

Lovely to hear about your two kids @CookieJ89 and I'm sorry I didn't mean to sound like a larger age gap is some awful thing, as I know it's not. DH and I both have a few cousins who are younger whose parents both had a similar age gap or even a bit bigger between them and their sibling and likewise they are close. There's definitely lots of advantages to a larger age gap too. I think it's just the fact that I resent my choice being taken away you know what I mean? We have actually wanted to TTC a year ago but for financial and career reasons we didn't feel like we could. So that is painful in itself the feeling that we could have even had no.2 here by now but due to money and things we couldn't. I feel jealous of people who don't have to worry about stuff like that and can just have their kids whenever they fancy you know what I mean?

Hi ladies please can I jump in? Hoping to TTC this year. Would be baby number 3, got a daughter who is 15months, my eldest would nearly be 5 but she died just before her first birthday sadly 👼
I'm ready to go but DH wants to wait until DD is a bit older, I'm hoping he will be onboard by the times she's 18 months 🤞🤞will deffo be my last baby so I'm in two minds, I don't want to rush the baby years but so ready to complete my family 🥰

@MeadowHay oh I totally didn’t take it like it was a bad thing I was just saying there is some real positive sides if that’s how it ended up being. 😊 and I’m telling you the easy@home tests are super cheap I just paid $17 for the 50/20 you can get them on Amazon and when u sign up for the premom app you can get your first box even cheaper I think I paid like less than $12 for my first box of 50/20 (50 OPK/20PT) that’s what I use. Which I just got off the depo and am struggling to deal with the fact I don’t think I’m ovulating yet and it’s been several months since my last shot. But the premom app reads your OPK for you so you don’t have to guess it tracks your peaks and everything. And when I read your response that it’s probably you not DTD enough I am the same way I have bipolar and depression so I struggle with extreme fatigue and I make it really hard when TTC.

@marcella64 so maybe that’s what’s going to go on with me. This month was my first period since getting off BC so until now I didn’t really know what was what. Maybe I will ovulate later on CD 18. I sure hope. It’s so off to me that my LH levels were way higher before I had my period like I had test 1.0 and .94 and all over the .40-.75 range and now it’s literally.08-.34

@CookieJ89 I've downloaded the premom app and ordered a 40 box of those ovulation tests off Amazon on your recommendation thanks! I used to have depression so I understand what that part is like, it is so hard isn't it. I've been recovered from it for about 4 years now apart from a small episode when I had HG with my pregnancy, so there's definitely light at the end of the tunnel . How long have you been off the depo for? I was on that years ago and we TTC for about 6 months afterwards without success, but then we had to stop as the timing wouldn't have worked out then and then we started trying again about a year later which eventually made DD lol. My periods after coming off depo were horrific, I think it took about 6 months or so for them to start going back to normal. I liked depo but I don't think I would go back on it again because I found coming off it so bad I must admit.

My easy @ home ovulation tests came yesterday! Should I start using them even though I'm in the tww or better to wait til after my next period? Anyone got any spicy ideas for their next bash at TTC?

@MeadowHay I use easy@home too after I found the One Step ones barely picked up anything. It’s great to use with the app and gives me peace of mind that my body is actually doing something!

You should wait until next cycle to start using as you’ll have missed your surge if you are already in the tww. I’m currently 2dpo and really want to continue using them ‘just to see’ what my levels are, but know it’ll just be a waste!

Heyy how is everyone? where are you all up to in your cycles? has anyone had a BFP Yet?

So i stopped bleeding just over a week ago any weve DTD a few times, i have no idea when i will next ovulate or my next period. Myself and my OH got little drunk sat night and had a good night haha also this week aswell.

I have no idea when my period will be after the MC so how long shall i wait to do a test?

@glow92 omg my OH is a nightmare when it comes to the playstation, and he got the PS5 aswell so is obsessed at the moment. xx

@Emmav2020 thankfully mine missed out on PS5 but I know one will turn up at some point!
I'm currently 1DPO so I'm now on countdown.

@Emmav2020 yes I'm predicting 3rd Feb, might take a test the weekend prior if I get a bit restless!

Ahh I'm out for this cycle, well I expected it as I don't think we had enough sex or even any around the peak time(s) tbh but still disappointed I guess. Had some spotting today and cramps so I reckon AF will pop up proper tonight or tomorrow. Fertility friend and Premom both said it would be Monday or Tuesday, but I do have slightly irregular cycles so it's within the realms of normal for me to have this slightly shorter cycle. Still, next month going to start the ovulation tests and have vowed to have much more sex!!

Not sure if anyone is still around but thought I should update - I had a bit of spotting for about two days which stopped, and my period is now at least 1 day late (based off my longest ever previous cycle, seeing as my cycles are irregular). Took a test today and got a BFP so made up hope you ladies all get yours soon x

I don't have much to update, still only 7DPO.
No symptoms apart from what must have been post-ovulation symptoms the first couple days.

I stopped mc bleeding 2 weeks now, dtd a few times since then and im having low abdomen pains so guessing it could be ovulation or period on its way. Do you recon could be implantation? X

Its so difficult to symptom spot because the symptoms of conception/early pregnancy are basically the same as your period coming aren't they? And since you won't know when you're due a period I guess it's even more confusing. I did have cramps around implantation though - when I had that spotting at first I had cramps so I assumed it was my period coming, but it must have been implantation. I don't think I had anything like that with my first pregnancy though.

Day 8 in cycle 3 now after AF had the audacity to show up 5 days early! So strange.

Anyone had any bfp?? I got this this week. Been feeling waves of nausia and tiredness this week thats why intested x
