Chemical Pregnancy - ovulation?

Hi all
We have been TTC baby number 2 for 3 months. Cycle usually 27/ 28 days... ovulate usually around day 13. Confirmed using CB monitor.

Last month had chemical pregnancy - BFP then bleed cycle day 32. Dr did bloods HCG was 0 on 4th Jan.

We are trying again this month. Im counting from when my period "should" have been... I'm cycle day 14 CB is flashing smiley but not solid yet. Do you think I won't ovulate this month or should I count from the day bleeding started which would make me cycle day 8 today...

Any advice please 💖

I'm very sorry for you loss. 💔
You should count the first day of the bleed as CD1, not the day your period should have arrived. Does that make sense?

Thank you I wasn't sure if egg would release as normal as didn't implant? I've read both 😂

@xem87 A chemical pregnancy happens when an egg is fertilised by a sperm, it starts the process of implantation (that's why you get a positive pregnancy test, the hcg hormone is only present in the body when an egg has implanted in the uterus) but fails to progress very far and the uterine lining sheds (much like a normal period). The day that your lining starts to shed (the first day of bleeding) is the first day of the new cycle, CD1. A new egg is being prepared from that point on and it will be released (ovulation) right around the usual time for you. So what happened to the previous egg has nothing to do with this cycle. I hope this is helpful!

Women quite often ovulate later than usual the month after a chemical pregnancy @xem87, it’s perfectly normal.

I’m sorry for loss.

We conceived our daughter the cycle straight after a chemical. I've heard this a lot as supposedly you are more fertile. Good luck, just keep DTD if you are up to it 🙂
