PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) and IVF

Hi. Right I'll try to keep this as simple as poss. I have a young son through ICSI IVF. they think my ovaries were polycystic just because the couple of readings they took showed eggs that weren't of mature size and ovulation hadn't occured when it should have however my periods we've already irregular so they did say they may not have taken bloods at the right time. Anyway it's likely I have PCOS and my husband had low sperm in volume, mobility and morphology. So IVF was recommended. Since this my marriage ended a few months after baby born. Husband had an affair and too many other things to mention. My son was diagnosed with a very rare genetic chromosome syndrome. We're still waiting for my and husband's bloods to see if it was hereditary or fluke. My husband has a brother with a chromosome condition so likelihood is it's come from that side of family. We also need to check as we have two frozen embryos in storage. Since the split I've now become in a relationship with a lovely very caring man. He has daughters but one day ( stress not now at all but we are both 32 and because of my previous fertility issues he wants to know if we could ever have more babies ) . I also want to know for peace of mind. They reviewed us as a pair. My question is has anyone had PCOS with a male partner who was healthy and not had to go down the IVF route? I've read that they can prescribe tablets and then injections prior to any IVF talks. I wouldn't want to go through that again and hope that tablets can do what they need to in order to help ovulation occur with mature size eggs ? Does anyone have any direct experience or knowledge please. Also does anyone know if I could go through the NHS for tests as I've had IVF once before or if I'd have to go privately? I was living north but live south now . From reading I'd have to have all scans and bloods etc again for them to check it's PCOS before then monitoring my cycle and if warranted prescribe tablets. Is this right ? Any advice or stories welcomed.

Edit - when I said ' they reviewed us as a pair ' I mean me and my ex husband. So they suggested IVF with my PCOS and his low sperm quality and quantity combined. It says in my pcos leaflet that 80 percent of woman the tablets help and in my notes mentioned if the sperm tests came back normal they'd recommend fallopian tube checks and monitor my cycle
