...What on Earth am I meant to be looking for Blush I started BBT charting a couple of weeks ago, tbh I don’t even know if I’m doing it right? I take it first thing in the morning as soon as I wake up each day, I put it under my tongue for about 10 seconds and then read the temp and enter it into my app (Femometer) but in all honesty, I have no clue what I’m actually looking for Blush it seems to dip and rise most days so I’m not sure how I’m meant to decipher anything from it really?

What is a ‘normal’ temperature pre ovulation and after ovulation, is it individual or is there a general temperate that you should be?

//Totally non scientific answer just my opinion//

Your temp will be a little it different every day but usually just by a few degree points I.e one day 36.4 the next morning 36.7 etc. I found when I was doing it that my ovulation temp would be around 37.3 or something and I was usually around 36.5. So in my experience it wasn't a lot but it was deffo higher.

Is under the tongue the best place? I did armpit I think

Thanks @MaizeBlouse. Well this is the thing, there were no instructions with my thermometer so I had no idea how I should be taking my temp, lol. My husband suggested under my tongue so that’s what I’ve been doing but I have no idea if that’s correct and if I’m doing it wrong then I definitely want to know

Temperatures are generally lower in the follicular phase (before ovulation) and higher in the luteal phase (after ovulation). Temperatures can fluctuate quite a bit in the follicular phase but you need to ensure you're taking it at the same time each day, set an alarm if needed. A lot of people will get a dip in temperature on the day of ovulation and then your temps will rise thereafter, with the rise in progesterone. On average temps are generally lower than 36.4 before ovulation and higher than 36.4 after ovulation but everyone is different and this can vary slightly. After you've done BBT monitoring for a few months you'll start to notice a pattern. Fertility Friend is a good app for BBT, I use Femometer for reading OPKs but Fertility Friend for everything else.
