Infertility worry! Please help!

I hope I don’t get judged or frowned upon, wasn’t too sure where to ask so came here. I had a previous sexual partner who told me they didn’t have any infections or anything. Obviously after having sex, I got a test just in case and it came back positive with chlamydia. (Ik stupid for believing). I’m worried that I may be infertile due to the possible consequences of contracting chlamydia and have just gone through my treatment. My current boyfriend has also been tested and treated, and tbh I feel that I reacted quickly and I’m hoping it hasn’t caused too much damage. Me and my partner both want children together and I’m just quite worried and nervous and upset that I have ruined that because of what’s happened. I have tried to find statistics but there doesn’t seem to be any. Any mothers that have had chlamydia but still been able to have children, please please please explain the process and what occurred from when you had treatment all the way to you conceiving your children! Please! Very anxious and overwhelmed!

Hey @HMB03 I was always under the impression that Chlamydia causes infertility if left untreated and it sounds like you got in there pretty quickly. I think it would have to cause there to be some sort of issue with your fallopian tubes or lining so it would have to get quite bad I think to do that. I have had it (probably for a few months) and have had cameras in my uterus for a different reason and they didnt mention any scarring or anything. Having said all that I'm not a doctor but really it would try not to worry! X

I know loads of people (I can think of 11!) who had chlamydia in their late teens/early twenties (was a bit of an outbreak at my uni 🤢) who have gone on to have kids.

I think it’s only an issue if you don’t treat it.
