Chemical pregnancy

I am going through my 2nd chemical pregnancy in a row.
Has anyone experienced recurrent chemical pregnancies?
It's heartbreaking & now I'm wondering if something is wrong. I seem to be able to get pregnant quite easily but cannot make it stick.

I'm currently going through my second chemical pregnancy in 4 months of trying. I've seen comments where women have had more than 2 chemical's and eventually had a successful pregnancy. Trying to stay positive. I know how you're feeling.

@Annannanna I’m sorry to see you’ve gone through this. I recognise your name from another post.

I too had a CP just after Christmas, which felt incredibly cruel after the positive tests and feeling really ill for a few days to then lose it was really tough especially being separated from family this year.

I’ve take time off MN and just taken some time out. Trying to see it as the positive in it all and remain optimistic for this next cycle - but it’s very tough and I think I’ll be more cautious in future to not get our hopes up until we get through the first weeks. I just wanted to comment to say I understand how you’re feeling x

Yes I had four on the run when I started trying. Fifth pregnancy stuck. I did start myself on aspirin though for that one.

I have had 2 in a row and today the dr says I'm having a "threatened miscarriage" at 5 weeks. The liklihood of 3 miscarriages in a row is something like 1% I've read

That can't really be a true statistic because a lot of these types of pregnancies are not reported or the mother is not aware they've happened because period comes only a day or a few days late. Very early sensitive testing has a lot to answer for. It's actually very common for eggs to be fertilised and implant for a very short period before the body realises they're not viable. The tiny amounts of hormone that gets realised is enough to trigger those early tests. Happens a lot with very fertile women too. Chemical pregnancies are disappointing and upsetting but they are common and doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong.

Sorry you are going through this again, it is heartbreaking. I am waiting for ovulation at the moment but feeling doubtful it will stick again if I get pregnant.

@parsnipsnotsprouts
That makes sense, I did read somewhere that people who have chemical pregnancies are very fertile and implant eggs that shouldn't be implanted. I have got pregnant every time I have tried but it just doesn't stick.
I am thinking about starting baby asprin too. I am making a gp appointment so will see what she says.

Thank you everyone. It's so rubbish to go through but nice to know I'm not alone & others understand.
I hope we all get our sticky bfp eventually!
I will keep trying so will let you know if I get lucky this month. After my last chemical pregnancy I ovulated really late so I'm expecting to have to wait ages again this month.
