I am currently 5'4 and weighing 14.11 stone. My periods have started being 38 days in terms of my cycle which is bad when ttc. Anyone any examples of how losing weight impacted their period or how long it took to become more regular please.

I'm going to start being healthier and lose weight from today.

Hi @dollymoo! I am 5'0 and I used to weigh 12.5 stone (BMI 34.1). In 2015 I decided to get healthy and lose weight so I started counting calories and up my activity gently, just very long walks every day. In 9 months I lost 5 stone and my BMI was down to 21. My periods went from every 30-40 days to a clockwork 28 days, give or take a couple of days. Being overweight messes up your body in more ways than one, including your hormonal balance and therefore your menstrual cycle. Also, a high BMI can cause pregnancy complications. Everyone is different of course, but the risks are increased.
No matter what you decide to do, I wish you all the best! Ultimately you know what's best for your body. Good luck on your TTC journey! ❤️

Thank you for the reply. I used to have clockwork period up until around 2 years ago and they are now really long cycles. Also hd a miscarriage in 2018 so it's really been since that time.

How many calories were you eating a day. I'm trying to eat 1350.

@dollymoo I was eating between 1000-1200, but bare in mind I'm very short.
