Missed pill - confused?

Going to try and make this as short as possible.

I've been extremely busy and after my pill free week which is 7 days I completely forgot to take the first 5 days of the new pack (I'm on the combined pill). I've also had unprotected sex with my husband during those days also.

Has anyone got experience from something like this and got pregnant from missing the first few days? After doing some research I found these are the most important days to take when on the combined pill.

Would just like some feedback really Smile

Lots of ladies on here are struggling to conceive after being on the pill, it really messes with your hormones. I'm TTC and now on my 5th cycle since stopping the pill. Occasionally someone will get pregnant after forgetting a few pills but from my experience it's unlikely.

@ButterscotchBabe yes I've actually been reading this, and even that has scared me. Does the pill really mess you up that much? I've been on it years and want kids one day

Take it for 7 days after you last had unprotected sex then stop as you don’t want to be taking it if you are pregnant. Also you must also use condoms for 7 days after the last missed pill or you could still get pregnant even though you’ve started taking it again.

Take a pregnancy test 14 days after you last had unprotected sex. Use condoms until your next period then start again on a new pack.

@whitedove1985 I think in the long term it probably doesn't affect fertility but it can do in the short term. So when you are ready to get pregnant, just be aware that it can take around 6 months for your hormones to go back to normal. Most people aren't aware of that so it comes as a nasty surprise but now you are aware, at least you can plan for it 🙂.

@ButterscotchBabe thank you so much for that I'm definitely going to keep that in mind. Since being on Mumsnet that's one thing I picked up on and it naturally did worry me.

I hope you get a BFP soon Smile
