Metallic taste

Hi everyone, I’ve had a metallic taste in my mouth since Sunday night (8dpo I think) didn’t think much of it until I googled it and it says it can be a pregnancy symptom? I did a cheap test this morning and had a BFN, the taste seems to be getting stronger 🤢 just wondering if anyone had this symptom and went on to have a BFP?

@KatieA1234 im okay all the same things apart from the brown spotting that had stopped has now turned into a dark red colour but defiantly more red😞 period not due till 10th so not sure what's going on. Also felt abit sickly this morning something one of my neighbours was cooking was making me reach x

Well it's not quite a period. It's the same amount as the brown spotting but just redder so I believe that's my month over now. I'm not sure as to cycle as all over place x

Yeah, just really thought this was it. Been taking seven seas trying for a baby, used ovulation tests and negative in the morning and then positive the evening. Don't really understand the cycle and how it works lol but tried when my app told me to and felt things I thought was it.

Just devastated, I still keep telling myself it's still got a brown tinge to it and it's not as heavy as my normal period but that doesn't mean a thing lol x

@KatieA1234 What I thought could have been an early lighter period has now faded off into the light brown again😩🤯 have no clue what's going on now x

@Anonymous2345 hmm how strange! I’d say it could still be implantation bleeding? I’d see how it goes in the next couple of days and if it stops I’d take another test xx

@KatieA1234 it's barely even there anymore now. The cramps are still there but they are very minimal. But now there's just very very light tinge to toilet roll🤷‍♀️ honestly have no idea what's going on lol🤯

How are you getting on x

I’m okay thankyou, still got the metallic taste and had waves of feeling sick today, might take a test in the morning just cause I’m so impatient 🙈🤣 swear I must spend a fortune on tests! And I told myself I wasn’t stressing myself out about it this time around 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣 x

@KatieA1234 hopefully it is. Just don't want to get my hopes up anymore then they already are lol

And that's a good sign. I don't have the metallic taste anymore so I'd say it's a good sign that you do! I get to impatient and hate waiting so I'd defiantly test in the morning. So frustrating isn't it. Kind of feel like your not alone with this tho x

Yeah I think I’m going to have too 🙈 it’s a FRER test too so I think if I don’t get anything on it I must just be going mad 🙈🤣 x

I had the metallic taste about a week before my period was due.
Had no idea this taste was connected to pregnancy - (BG - before google).
I threw my toothbrush away thinking it was that, bought a new toothbrush and still had the taste. Threw the toothpaste, new toothpaste - still had the taste. Rang the Water Company - the lady said could you be pregnant? And I was.

Got the taste again later - knew immediately I was pregnant.

I had girls. I had severe morning sickness throughout.

Didn't have that taste when I had my son - but could be coincidence. I had never been more well in my life when I was expecting a boy.

Both my daughters had the taste when they we're having girls. My older daughter has had two boys - didn't have the metallic taste.

@fairyannie Thanks for your reply, that’s good to know! Do you know how many DPO you were when you got your positive test? Just as I think I’m 12DPO today and had a negative test so not holding out much hope now x

Tested the day before period due and got the faintest line.

Went to the GP a week later and they did similar test there which was dark almost immediately.

Couldn't open the fridge door without physically holding my nose and my breath. 🤢

@fairyannie oohhh really? If I’ve not came on by Sunday maybe I’ll test again then.
Haha, I’ve not really felt sick today, just had the odd wave yesterday x

@KatieA1234 no more spotting, only back ache and slight cramps still. I'd say test again if you haven't come on x

@KatieA1234 I've gone and got a cheapy test from Asda just a stick one just gonna do it and see what it says x

Bear in mind a metallic taste in the mouth could be a covid symptom (I have one right now with it). Fingers crossed it’s pregnancy but it’s just something to have at the back of your mind I think.

@GreyishDays that actually never crossed my mind until today! Have you got any other symptoms?x

I had a partial loss of taste and then went on to be extremely tired (also could be a pregnancy symptom), have backache, ditto, and then a cough on about day 7.
