Confused/ LH Tests?

Hello, can anyone help? I have just started tracking using LH tests (been trying without for 3 months). I am getting low low results but Femometer/Premom/Clue all say I am in my fertile stage (ovulation predicted on CD 14). We haven't BD this month as I got some really bad spotting on CD 10 & 11 so was worried AF came back (my period is a slave to my stress/anxiety levels and this LH tracking has me on high alert), my question is, do I go for it listening to what the apps say or wait? Stupid Qs but I am nervous about missing it and tiring myself and OH out by BD everyday!

@Denniscat14 I would recommend DTD every other day until you know your cycle pattern. The apps are not great at predicting ovulation and unless your temping. The strips can be good for highlighting when you might ovulate but I never seem to catch mine!

BBT will be more accurate than LH. Different people will produce different levels for different lengths of time. I never got the super dark line just "dark enough". FWIW, the month I got pregnant we DTD once 5 days before the apps said I ovulated and fertility was "unlikely" so whilst I think it all helps, I don't think it's an exact science. It's easy for me to say, but try to enjoy it.

Check your vagical mucus too - if it's eggwhite stringy then get busy.

Also, Google SMEP. It means you don't have to have sex every other day all month Grin

Thank you! Off to jump on my OH and ruin MOTD for him...

Also, don't necessarily go by the apps . I don't ovulate when the apps say , it's later for me. I only know that because I used OPKS and BBT for a few months

Aww I remember those days of jumping on the husband to make a baby Blush so exciting, good luck and baby dust!!!

@PurBal Thanks I got the femometer and it arrived yesterday so going to start tracking my BBT, woke up at 5.30 this morning though (OBVIOUSLY!) so think this mornings will be abnormal.

@DoveGreylove yes, I think thats my next go to... my nails are super long (blame BoJo and closing the nail shops) so just gonna have to snip them and attempt to take off the shellac myself! Off to google SMEP as well

THANK YOU!

Apps wrongly predicted my fertile period for a good few months and also convinced me that I had a luteal phase defect, when I actually ovulate early around cd10/11. Also, don't wait for your positive on the opk - if you're like me and have a short surge, you could miss it (took me a bit of practice to catch it) and then I ovulate on the same day as my positive (confirmed by bbt) so if I waited for my positive, I'd likely miss ovulation. Try and dtd every other day, good luck! 🤞

I prefer to use OPKs to predict my ovulation day. After uploading OPKs results to premom app for a few cycles, it predicts my O day pretty accurate now. @Denniscat14 you may want to take the test every day except your period, this do help me to find out my pattern.
