Question about Cervical Mucus (sorry!)

So anyone who’s done any reading on conceiving knows that the ‘right kind’ of cervical mucus (I won’t go into the details!) signals prime baby-making time. My question is, as soon as you notice it do you have to get straight to it as it signals you are ovulating right now, or is it a signal that you should do it at some point over the next few days (let’s say a 1-3 day window)? Or something else altogether - maybe it means a whole fertile week ahead (but who am I kidding?😂). Any insights on this would be really helpful. Basically I want to know how long the fertile window is once you noticed that ideal cervical mucus has arrived. Thanks in advance for any responses x

Get straight on it, and every other day after.
Are you checking that your cervix is higher and slightly softer too,?

I had fertile cm, watery - ewcm, for 2 days before predicted ovulation. We dtd from 5 days before predicted ovulation until 2 days after. Just to make sure.
Sperm can live for up to 5-7 days in the uterus/tubes/vag

TBH I would be going with every other day after your period has finished, to be sure.

Not sure how to do that!!

@Lene88 you check your cervix by putting a finger or 2 up inside your vagina to feel it

Unfortunately every other day isn’t possible for us 😔 so it’s vital I time it right

Before and after your period your cervix will be lower, nearer to the opening of your vagina. When you are fertile the cervix will be higher up.
When you are in your fertile period the cervix is softer, when you’re not it is firmer like your nose feels.
It’s only by checking every day, and keeping a diary, that you will see the difference.
So it’s a combination of discharge, cervix height and softness that you’re looking at.
