2 Miscarriages - Looking for some hope

Hi all,

I am 31 and sadly had a MMC in May at 8.5 weeks after seeing a heartbeat at 6.5 weeks. Managed to get pregnant on 2nd cycle

Managed to get pregnant on 4th cycle this time but sadly had another miscarriage at 6 weeks.

I am feeling pretty down at there being no hope for us. I would love to hear some positive stories of those of you who have been through the same or anything that you did differently to have a successful pregnancy after 2+ miscarriages.

We are considering going private for some tests to be done before waiting for a 3rd but still undecided yet on what to do.

Many thanks

Xx

I had 2 miscarriages in the last 3 months and it’s been a rollercoaster of emotions. So sorry that you can relate. We have continued ttc but I’m constantly worried about getting a bfp and it causing me more heartache. But there’s only so much we can do about but stay healthy and hopeful. We have a son who just turned 4 and I’m 33 so feeling the pressure of having another little one. Hope to see positive stories on here in no time. Good luck everyone.

@Lille4 Sorry for your losses, it really is just an awful experience 😔 I'm the exact same as you! I'm so so scared but what else can we do. My miscarriage this second time is now complete, so I'm going to wait and have one cycle first before trying as that's what the nurse advised last week. Fingers crossed we have positive stories! Please keep in touch x

@Joan7986 Not as such, she just said to make sure and take folic acid and high vitamin D and vitamin D will take effect in 6 weeks.advised to wait and have one to two cycles after miscarriage to build up the lining again. But also try and get pregnant again within 6 months. And that's her following advice from the consultant who runs the recurrent miscarriage clinic.

Aw it is but please if you are struggling just message as we are in the exact same boat! Did you get a chat with your gp?

Lille4 · 27/11/2020 13:51

@Christie08 Hopefully we all get our sticky bean next time. I spoke to my gp and she said it’s awful that it happened in such a short space of a time but also mentioned the positive is that at least we are conceiving quite quickly so let’s keep trying and we’ll get a sticky one soon.
We have tried to adjust some lifestyle choices this time and hope that helps. Fingers crossed.
They will only refer you to a specialist once you have more than 3 mc but hopefully we never get to that stage.
Rooting for you xx

@Lille4 yes same here, I miscarried the first in July then again November. I really hope so as I would really dread to have to go through this again 3 times in a row 😔 All we can do is just be healthy and try reduce stress and hopefully luck will be on our side next time!

My DD had 7 mc/s and truly thought it would never be her turn.
Her 'turn' is now almost 6.

Despite hankering for another child they have not tried. Her health was always the issue and I fear would be again.

@Lille4 i am sorry for your losses also. I am also trying to think positive like you, we can get pregnant quickly which I know some couples struggle with! I hope you also get your BFP soon. Are you going to do anything different for third time lucky?

@Christie08 - yes, I did. She was really helpful, agreed that trying again was probably best and that trying to lead a healthy lifestyle will help. I have completely cut out caffeine and am trying loose a bit of weight and not drink as much. She also said if I get pregnant again she will refer me to see whether they can get me a prescription for progesterone and asprin (even though I think my progesterone levels are ok). Despite this, we may refer to a private clinic if I do fall pregnant again to give us the best chance.

I think I am also going to mix up my pregnancy vitamins to see if that helps.

We are still planning to try this month (although I know some GPs don't recommend it). I have started to have some symptoms of fertile window so hoping I ovulate in the next week or so.

I agree, let's keep in touch - hopefully we will all have some more positive news next time xx
