Spotting before AF

Hello everyone!

New to the forums but have been lurking fir a while. TTC number one with no luck for the past year. I normally get spotting before and around ovulation but never anything in the luteal phase ( I have fibroids though)

Today, I’m about 5dpo roughly (irregular cycles) and I’ve had some bright red bleeding, which I never ever ever get in the luteal phase. Always before ovulation!

Anyone know what this is? Xx

@Sperr Well done on DTD so often! You’ve maximised your chances which is great, it’s just about waiting now And I’m loving your positive attitude- it’s definitely a good thing if your cycles are back on track- long cycles are the worst aren’t they because it takes forever to get through them and you just want to get on

@Caterpillar132 Aww thanks lovely! Only a bit longer to wait but the closer it gets to AF the harder I find it to distract myself!

So I think my ‘symptoms’ of stabby pains might just be trapped wind or something
I’ve woken up with the pains still there and still having this almost needle like jab in the exact same spot and I feel it’s more regular now. If it was implantation, it should have stopped by now right? Ugh, I hate all this second guessing xxx

After being on the pill it’s nice to finally have a sex drive back! My OH isn’t complaining as well 😂. As far as he knows I’ve had my AF as I don’t want to get his hopes up over nothing.

I keep having mild AF type cramps- last night I was sure I was going to come on in the night but there was nothing this morning!
I’m never normally crampy after AF so not sure what that’s about! I had like shooting pains again this morning!

Nipples are very tingly at the moment as well!

Odd that you’ve got cramping but I’m hoping that it’s a good sign as you say it’s new for you! A week until testing seems like forever but just keep yourself distracted!

I don’t think this is my month at all! I’m starting to get the same cramps I always get before AF- I call them my warning signs I feel bloated and have this weird pressure down below which I always get before AF so I have a feeling I’m out xxx

I have heard the stabby pains can go on for a while! If accompanied by spotting it does make sense...but as you say, hard to know for sure! How long until you can test?

I’m like uncomfortably bloated as well at the moment which is annoying! But I haven’t exactly been eating healthy these past 2 days

@Caterpillar132 Funnily enough, they stopped when I posted about them And have had no more spotting since day before yesterday so you’re right, who even knows?

So AF is due on Thursday so I’m going to try and hold off until then. I hate the disappointment of testing early because then I always think oh well I’m just early and continue to test, wasting a looot of tests xxx

Ugh I know what you mean about bloat, it’s uncomfortable but I’m hoping it’s a good sign for you, fingers crossed. Hahaha definitely twinning with me in terms of unhealthy food. Have had a good few days of indulging myself, who knows for what reason? Hahahah xx

@WicketBasket That’s good! You’re very strong...and I agree. I got a negative at 12DPO and a positive on 14DPO. Got in a bad mood for no reason at all!! Good luck xxxx

@WicketBasket how you getting on? Getting past the weekend is definitely the hardest part in resisting not testing 😂

You’re so right, the weekend is difficult because it just seems like endless anticipation
I’m doing ok but having increasing pre AF cramps so I’m preparing myself for being out this month! Booo! 😂

@WicketBasket not much to report other than some dull back ache- cramps have definitely chilled out. Not sure if that’s good or bad 😂. I’m going to hold out until Thursday. The week days aren’t so bad because I’m so busy at work!

But thanks to my potentially new 28 day cycle I could be in my fertile week again next week.

@WicketBasket just to let you know I got my BFN this morning! I guess it’s not all bad since I’m already CD12 and heading into my fertile week with my new short cycles 😂. How are you getting on? Xx

Hello @Sperr! Sorry to hear about your BFN but that’s great that you’re already so close to your fertile week! This means you don’t have to wait too long
Unfortunately AF got me 3 days before I was expecting her, which means I didn’t even get a chance to test. I felt pretty down about it but what can you do? Gotta move on eh? Xx
