TTC #1 on cycle 3 now. I'm 28.
I called gp to speak about TTC and that I'm using opk. I have regular ish periods, from 28 days - 33days. She said my periods are fine and I should scrap the OPK, enjoy TTC.

How can I scrap OPK , I would never know when I get an lh surge to dtd? Is it possible to ttc and not check when you ovulate?

We did manage to get pregnant before these new fangled OPKs were invented you know! Checking cervical mucus was the thing, and lots of shagging around mid cycle.

The position of the cervix changes to, so you could familiarise yourself with it if that's your sort of thing.

I found Bbt charting much better. Did it for 2 months and it helped me see when I ovulated whereas I was always questioning whether opks were positive.
Didn't bbt after that, just plenty of dtd around the time.

I think it's perfectly fine to keep using OPKs if you find them helpful or have a particular reason like your OH working away and they don't stress you out.

I didn't get a very noticeable change in mucus so that didn't really help me and OH worked away like yours so I found that a quick OPK morning and afternoon actually made me feel less stressed about the whole thing!

If you've been on the pill, it can help to take extra B vitamins.
