So DH bit the bullet and spoke to the GP about the fact we havent conceived despite no contraception for almost 3 years.
Apparently the doctor was very suppprtive and is referring him for semen analysis and maybe bloods.
Due to Covid our surgery is only doing phone consults so I now have to have a seperate conversation about me to get the ball rolling for further tests.

I had bloods to check hormone levels (not the 21 day progesterone) and an abdominal scan over a year ago. Both were normal.
Is there anything I should and shouldnt be asking for? Obviously they will retake my bloods but are there any specific things I should be discissing at this stage?
My mind is just blank, it escalated very quickly and I honestly cannot think what I should ask about Confused

@Flutterby8 if you don't have a standard 28 day cycle with ovulation on day 14 then your 21 day blood test should be done 7 days before your period is due. I had one done this month on cd 24 as this was 7 days before af was due (she is due today at 13dpo but not shown yet - got a bfn though)

Hi @flutterby8 can you just book the appointment on day 23 or day 24 and your doctor wouldn't know otherwise?
Also, it seems strange that your gp said that if the 21 day bloods result was low again, they would refer you as 'unexplained' as that would confirm you aren't ovulating therefore you have an explaintion and can look to start treatment to help you ovulate rather than doing more tests to find out why you're struggling as you may already have the answer. Hope you get sorted though, it's a hard enough situation to be in without confusing gps!

I have just rang my GP as I was going to ring the fertility clinic to find out what the waiting times are, and suddenly realised I'm not sure where exactly we have been referred to. I'm assuming the local clinic attached to the hospital but wanted to be sure. The receptionist at my GP looked at my records and it doesn't actually say! She said it just says referred to Gynacology which I am now wondering does that even mean fertility clinic?! I have to ring back tomorrow to ask if they have found who I have been referred to!

Thank you for your replies @SS123456 @dogmam.
I will be honest, i felt as though I was banging my head against a brick wall when trying to explain my cycles to my doctor.
It seems logical to me to have a repeat blood test a few days later but as it says 21 days, Ive been told 21 days and no room for alterations.
I was really shocked when he said unexplained fertility too. Given DH hasnt had his results back and I havent had other testing yet.
I get that a GP will want to refer for fertility though, i guess it can be a long journey trying various meds when a fertility clinic can do more.
I am terrified though.
It just felt so real hearing that my progesterone was low. I never thought it would be (even if it was a bit early). I think I am a bit shocked.

Sorry its taking you a while to work out where youre being referred to @dogmam what a nightmare!!! Hopefully you find out soon!!!!!

@flutterby8 I know what you mean, the reality of actually needing to be referred is really scary and shocking. Not where I expected to be this time last year! I would honestly just book inn on day 23/24, sounds like you'll be getting referred regardless so the specialists will take over your care anyway but at least you won't be worrying about low results which you are likely to get back if you go again on day 21.
