BBT and clocks going back?

Slightly random - but what is everyone choosing to do with their daily BBT time with the clocks going back tomorrow?

Normally I have an alarm set at 6am, which is almost tolerable, but I hate the thought of doing it at 5am to maintain consistency.. the other part of me is worried if I do just stay at 6am (so technically 7am tomorrow) it’s going to be totally unreliable 🤦🏼‍♀️

It’s my first clock change since I’ve started tracking so would love to know how everyone else copes!

I’m in my TWW and 7DPO if this helps :)

I'll just be taking it as normal and not adjust my time for the change in clocks. Hopefully it won't have too much of an effect on my chart!

Saying that, I'm 11dpo tomorrow so not got long until a new cycle so it's easy for me to be chill about this...

I'm laying awake at 4am wondering exactly the same. I'm CD12 so crunch time for me. So think I'll shift to taking an hour earlier not to mess it up. Then if/when ovulation is detected maybe adjust 3/4 days later

I never changed anything when I was tracking- this is from fertility friends

Do I have to do anything special to chart my basal body temperature (BBT) when the time changes for Daylight Saving Time?*
The effect of Daylight Saving Time (DST) on your basal body temperature is usually limited to the day of the change because you adjust quite quickly. In addition, the exact effect depends on your own metabolism. Some people will see no effect at all while others will see a slight change (increase or decrease). Because in general having one temperature slightly "off" will not change your chart interpretation, Fertility Friend's recommendation is to record your BBT as usual without correcting it in any manner. We recommend that you keep taking the temperature at the same time. If you took it at 6 in the morning before the change, then take it at 6 in the morning after the change.

That is super helpful @ElectricEels

I was wondering the same thing! I normally take it between 6-6.30am but I happened to wake up at 5.45am today (would have 6.45am) so luckily the timing wasn't too far out. I hope your temp wasn't too different this morning x

You're welcome. This sort of thing used to stress me out so much when we were trying!

Good luck to all Smile

Thank you everyone and @ElectricEels for the snippet!

That puts my mind at rest - I did 6am as usual :) I’m not sure whether to think of it as a bad thing or a good thing but my temp today continued to stay high (actually the highest yet!) 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
