Feel so bummed guys. I thought this was the month. This is really hard and starting to stress me out. I feel so alone in this right now to be honest. I’m 30, hubby is a couple years older we’re quite healthy. We’ve been trying for 4 months now and nothing. Does anyone have any advice or any hints and tips because I’m super bummed. I also feel like I have no one to talk to about this. My AF has just literally come :( so sad. Anyone in the same sort of position as me?

Honestly - best thing we did. It helped him to feel part of it as well, like all the responsibility wasn't on me, and he did all his own research and he's got a really good understanding of what we women go through now!

TTC and the TWW is a lonely time so knowing he's going through it with me is helpful. Although he can definitely switch off from it faster than I can!

Mistymonday · 20/10/2020 10:12

Just started cycle 7, which is tough because I am 38 and feel like time is not on my side! He is getting sperm tests, I had a checks before ttc but might get more then go Quickly to ivf as egg quality declines at 39!

Izzie94 · 20/10/2020 11:45

@AKcheer I googled private fertility clinics near me, and there was one 30 minutes away (city centre!) it cost £150, which I was happy to pay for peace of mind! It was a complete fertility check. She looked at the size/shape of the uterus, checked for ovulation, checked follicles, and for polypops and cysts oh and endometrial lining! There was so much and so much detail, I also had hormonal blood tests too. I think that’s why I feel a bit more relaxed now ☺️ We will get there eventually!! I try telling myself worrying and stress doesn’t create a happy environment for a little one ✨ but I do have my bad days for sure! X

Juno231 · 20/10/2020 13:26

Am 32, on cycle 10 and still no luck. All my tests have come back fine and OH is having himself tested next week as well so we don't have to worry about anything being wrong on his side of things.

Dinosaurus86 · 20/10/2020 14:23

You're definitely not alone @AKcheer! I know it feels like it. We're on cycle 7 now and nothing so far. It is getting me down and am v worried there is something wrong. I keep reading all sorts of statistics like 70%+ conceiving within the first 6 months and wondering why I have to be in the minority! I've started acupuncture which is helping to keep me sane. I also had a (private) day 21 test last month which came back low, but I'm almost certain I just had delayed ovulation (unfortunately I decided not to track with ovulation tests last month, like the idiot I am!) after starting Pregnacare vitamins, which seems pretty common. So now I need to retest next month. If that comes back ok then I might try to get DP in for sperm testing. He's 30 and I'm 33.

AKcheer · 20/10/2020 15:20

@emiliet123 I’m a speak to my husband about it tonight and hopefully he will think it’s a good idea too!! Yeah I can imagine it’s always good to have your husbands support and him understanding everything. It helps a lot!

@Mistymonday Good to hear all your tests came back ok! How does he feel about sperm tests? Ahh I’m hoping time is on your side and you conceive naturally!! Fingers crossed!! Keep doing what your doing!!

@Izzie94 Oh wow I’m going to look into this. It sounds like for £150 they check a lot. And your right it’s all for a peace of mind and then you can carry on. Helps you relax! Yeah I know I think we all need to stay positive and when the time is right it will happen. I think I find it hard because everyone around me is getting pregnant and everyone looks at me like why aren’t you pregnant!! It’s so hard!

@Juno231 Hey girl. Good to hear your tests went fine too. Did you also go private? Keep us posted on OH tests I’m sure they will be fine!

@Dinosaurus86 Thank you. It really does feel like it. You know how it goes, everywhere you turn you see someone who’s had a perfect conception and pregnancy and baby and it’s hard. Or at least they act like they have. I keep reading the same stats as you too and it also gets to me so I know how you feel. Oh wow acupuncture sounds good. What exactly are day 21 tests? I’ve not heard of them. Are you still taking Pregnacare? I started them and stopped at one point they were messing my life up. My periods were all over the shop and I was really hormonal! You and your hubby are literally the same age as me and my OH!

It's very hard when it doesn't happen. My fertility doctor told me that most couples who are both healthy and who are having enough sex conceive in 3 months. Which isn't the most exciting thing to hear. But she really emphasised the sex thing and I think it's true that often people mistake when they are genuinely fertile and making sure to have more sex all round is a good option - certainly, one of the reason I had fertility treatment is that my doctor told me sex every 2 days for at least a week on either side of when you think you will ovulate is best but in my case we didn't know when I ovulated so that wasn't possible.

I've lost count of the number of women I know who got pregnant in what they were convinced was a non fertile time.

Good luck OP. I know it's hard. I miraculously fell pregnant without fertility treatment with DD but it was after 7months.

Nam095 · 20/10/2020 18:23

@AKcheer I’m 9dpo now, I actually got a clear BFP today!

I have everything crossed that this cycle will be the one for you 🤞🏼❤️

AKcheer · 20/10/2020 20:50

Omg @Nam095 this is amazing!!! Congratulations girl!! You tested early!! How you feeling!!’n

OP posts:
AKcheer · 20/10/2020 20:52

Hey @SpaceOP thanks for messaging! Ahh yeah I’ve seen on the net they say every 2-3 days to have sex not just around ovulation so I might try that.

I guess there is hope!! So nice to hear you fell pregnant without fertile treatment!!! ❤️❤️

Nam095 · 20/10/2020 22:41

@AKcheer thank you ☺️ I honestly don’t know how to feel haha, it doesn’t seem real yet of course but I’m sure as the days go by I’ll feel it more and more! I must have implanted early as I have quite a clear BFP.

Just goes to show that fertilisation doesn’t have to follow statistical rules of only between 7-12dpo!

How long did it take you to conceive first? 4th cycle trying and AF is here :(
Nam095 · 20/10/2020 22:43

Meant to say implantation 🤦🏼‍♀️ Baby brain already getting me haha

AKcheer · 20/10/2020 23:33

@Nam095 That’s such a clear BFP! What made you test!? 100% you must have implanted early!! This is such great news I’m
so happy for you!! Hahahah baby brain already!! I wish you the most amazing and healthy journey x

Izzie94 · 21/10/2020 09:30

@Nam095 amazing 😍 congratulations girl ✨ wishing you the healthiest and happiest 9 months x

Nam095 · 21/10/2020 13:48

@AKcheer @Izzie94 thank you ladies ☺️ I usually use cheapies from about 9dpo anyway and I saw a faint line on it so I took a FRER and bam 🙊 got a positive on a digital today as well at 10dpo

Wishing you both the best of luck and loads of baby dust xxx

Dinosaurus86 · 21/10/2020 17:41

@AKcheer the day 21 test is for progesterone. It's supposed to be above a certain level to indicate ovulation and to be sufficient to support a pregnancy should one occur. I've decided to stop the Pregnacare - too stressful! I've gone back to feroglobin, which I used to take anyway and contains a lot of the same things (including folic acid), but a lower dose of b6 which it sounds like might be the culprit for some of the problems Pregnacare causes. Also taking vitamin d and vitamin c separately.

I'm enjoying the acupuncture so would recommend that - not that it has worked for me yet! Am planning also to try out the conceive plus lubricant this month.

Dinosaurus86 · 21/10/2020 17:52

Also, really sorry to hear about your ectopic @DoctorBambino. I remember you from one of the other threads. I dropped off the conception board for a month or so because just finding it all a bit much.

AKcheer · 22/10/2020 00:50

@Nam095 Ahhh do you!! It’s so good it showed up on the cheapies so early and it’s so nice you knew early!!! Thank you!! ❤️

@Dinosaurus86 Ahhh okay I’m with you. Never knew such a test existed. Do you just ask the docs for it? Yeah man pregnacare is just so stressful isn’t it. I sometimes think I need to try another one but then I just don’t bother so I just have folic acid, vitamin d and vitamin c but not sure if that’s enough!!!

How does this acupuncture work as in where do you have it? Ooh I use conceive plus I quite like it!!!

MasksGlovesSoapScrubs · 22/10/2020 01:04

First cycle and I know how extremely lucky I am that it happened first time.
Hope it happens soon for all of you x

DoctorBambino · 22/10/2020 09:25

Thank you @Dinosaurus86 I remember you too! I really hope it happens for you soon 🤞 its so frustrating how long everything takes. My chances are pretty low now I think and I'm at greater risk of another ectopic 😔 I went to see a private fertility consultant and he has recommended a few procedure to check my other tube but I have to heal up from surgery first. Currently in my first TWW post surgery and still holding on to a glimmer of hope. Otherwise we might have to go with IVF.

grandmasterstitch · 22/10/2020 13:27

18 cycles with my 1st. One cycle with my second. There's just no way to predict it. They say 80% of couples will get pregnant within a year so you're a long way off yet. Keep positive!

AKcheer · 22/10/2020 20:34

@grandmasterstitch wow what a difference!! Just got to keep faith and go with it!!

OP posts:
SRyellow · 22/10/2020 21:27

I’m on cycle 5 and feel like I’m trying everything! They say to try not to think about it to much but it’s impossible!

physicskate · 22/10/2020 22:33

Two and a half years and a round of ivf for first. Currently pregnant with unplanned number two after one shag...

There's not always rhyme or reason for these things.

80% within a year. 90% within two years.

In ttc terms, you are less likely to have become pregnant after ttc for 4 months than to still not be pregnant...

AKcheer · 23/10/2020 12:51

@SRyellow Hahaha I feel like you! Definitely feel like I’m trying everything and it’s not going anywhere it seems!! But my AF is nearly over so it’s another month to try again

@physicskate Awww congratulations!! Yes you are right there’s no equation or anything it’s the luck of of them egg or sperm!
