Can I still be pregnant with hard cervix

Hi guys. TTC with irregular periods (not major irregular they just differ by 10 or so days either way sometimes)

I've had what I thought was ovulation pains on and off for around a week now. Came off my period 16 days ago now.

My cervix yesterday was so soft and MAJORLY open, like it's never been that open before.

Today however I still had ovulation pain (like I say I think it's that!) and my cervix opening has a hard bit on the left (very hard may I add) but the rest of my cervix is soft. It also feels longer than yesterday.

So it is just the left side of the opening that is harder than it's ever been.

Does this mean I'm out this month? If not can anyone tell me why my cervix is the way it is? I've read confusing things online some say after conception it's soft some day it's hard.

Please respond someone I'm stressing here!!

Thanks so much! Xx

Stop poking your cervix! Your cervix cannot reliably tell you anything about whether you are pregnant in the early days so you are worrying yourself for no reason. Fwiw my cervix stayed low and hard for weeks into my pregnancy, I can't remember when exactly it went high and soft as I didn't want to cause infection by exploring too much. In other people it can raise up straight after conception. There's no way for you to know until you take a test in a couple of weeks so try to stay calm!

It sounds to me as though you have just ovulated. During ovulation your cervix will be high, soft and open... this ties in with your ovulation pain. And now your cervix has dropped and gone firm and likely closed, this happens after ovulation and is perfectly normal. You now have a two week wait to discover if you are pregnant or not... Good luck!

I’ve recently fallen pregnant with baby no2 (after a very long year of trying!) and I hadn’t heard of the cervix theories with DS1 so was a bit obsessed this time. 🙈
The only consistent finding every cycle was that around ovulation it was super high and soft. The cycle I got my BFP it dropped very low and was very firm around AF being due, just like you would typically expect with AF!

My advice is stop poking around as I don’t think it’s as reliable as some people say. Best of luck and lots of baby dust to you! X

The thought of you all touching your cervix honestly makes me cross my legs uuuff I don't know why or how you do tht 🤣🤣

ggggrace · 17/10/2020 21:12

@lastbany your partner probably touches your cervix during sex so don't really think it's much different?😂
