Hi

So me and my partner had an inkling that I was pregnant way before I even got the first positive test. I got the test very very early and it was a v v faint line, but a line nonetheless.

We were absolutely thrilled because we had recently (as in this year suffered a miscarriage)

But anyway I digress, the next morning, I.E today, soon to be yesterday technically!

We got a clear negative.

However later yesterday evening and today I have been suffering with cramps of a fairly mild variety as if the regular period was on its way.

However no blood has come out at all, and the cramps have subsided a little since going to the loo.

I already have other symptoms of very very early pregnancy and my actual period is due on the 21st I believe, making that the 4-week mark for me.

However, after getting overly panicked and calling 111 they have panicked about an ectopic pregnancy which is hard as i am housebound and cannot even get for that scan rn.

just looking for advice or comfort really I guess as lots of women seem to have had the same sort of thing on the internet and even on Mumsnet re the positive/negative pregnancy.

Thanks for reading if you even got this far lol.

Also just to add to the mix I got a positive ovulation test today which is actually fucking impossible considering my ovulation cycle part/time period has gone and my CM is indicative of the early stages of pregnancy and definitely NOT hospitable for sperm at all aha.

And they were pretty cheap naff ones!

Ovulation tests can also pick up HCG, so you can get a positive ovulation test if you are pregnant.
Period cramps are also pretty typical in early pregnancy.
Which tests did you use for the BFP and BFN and what time of day did you test?
Not much you can do at the moment but wait and test again...

Hi

I have been using first response, I used MomMed for one that was at night and came back as a negative once, but that apparently needs 25iUL/mg or whatever, and first response which is what I used both times for the BFP and the BFN the next morning, cause they only need 6.3iul or whatever it is/ml to detect it.

The pain is more like a dull ache in my back and across my stomach and I also have some massiveeee boob pain like pre-period, so I guess this kind of windy/gassy bloated feeling is all pre-period things so that explains the pre period like cramps,. So hopefully it's just that and I will get a clearer BFP soon! Thank you for taking the time to reply, the ectopic pregnancy thing really really scared me as I have PCOS, but my mum really thought that it wouldn't be that at this stage anyway, sort of sucked all of the joy out of it and replaced it with some worry :(

Btw do you know, a tightness and heaviness in the stomach and abdomen is that common in early pregnancy do you know?

It just feels.. different to a period but sort of the same if you get what I mean.

Call its mothers, or mothers to be instincts but I am pretty sure that the baby is there!

With my first I was so sure I was just getting my regular period cramps that I had a drink that night
My only other symptom in the lead up to the cramps was massive fatigue
I definitely did not have any mother’s instinct
A doctor told me a few days later that I was pregnant and I was shocked

Isn't it so strange how the same processes in our bodies can be so different for each and every woman!
