Can I join too?

I’m 42. I have three kids and was definitely done having babies. Then I got accidentally pregnant in lockdown. At first I thought it was a disaster then we all got excited and decided it was great. Then I had a missed miscarriage. I am TTC again because we were all so excited before the loss.

I feel that the D&C Following my miscarriage may however have left me unable to conceive. I’ve always conceived instantly before, all three of my children and the miscarriage were conceived without any though as to when I ovulate or anything like that. This time it feels different and this is our third month trying.

Having never had to think about conception before I’m a bit of a novice but this month I tracked ewcm and so at least I know we tried at the right times.

I am 2 DPO now so let’s see what happens this month. I fear I will test way too early as I’m desperate to know.

@kim80 I have just read back and realise how similar our recent experiences are too. I also got pregnant by mistake, also have older kids, also had a missed miscarriage and also had to have two D&Cs after the first failed to remove all the “remnants of pregnancy” as they so nicely termed it.

kim80 · 02/10/2020 14:40

@40PlusTTC I just read your post and thought I was reading mine, I fully appreciate how you feel.

I still have to wait for my body to return to normal routine 😩 but sure it will happen soon.

I am sure it will happen for you especially as your monitoring your body so well. I will keep my fingers crossed for you and look forward to hearing from you more Smile

Jaysdream7 · 02/10/2020 14:43

Thank you so much. Sorry for your loss. How long have you been taking these for? X

I also lost 2 babies in lockdown and used to falling off easily but have been struggling since. I have also had a d&c worry they damaged me. I want two more but despite planning conception to a tea know this is not my month. Every pregnancy I have felt awful by now but this month nothing at all. No cm nothing. All other pregnancies I knew. When I am not I know by now. Xx

@Jaysdream7 I am so sorry you have had two such recent losses. It does seem scarily common. I’m also sorry you are so sure this month isn’t it for you. You never know though. I had bad morning sickness with no 1, moderately bad with 2 and mild with 3 so things can be different.

kim80 · 02/10/2020 19:02

@Jaysdream7 I have continued to take the folic since the missed miscarriage and the other tablets since I had the erpc and will continue to take them ttc.

The lovely ladies on the thread helped and advised what to take.

I'm just struggling as only coming into week two from my 2nd erpc so have no idea where my cycle will be or how long I will have to wait for my first af 😩.

Good luck. 😊

Hi all - some positive news! I got a BFP at 9dpo. Photos below are 9, 10 and 11 dpo (today). Still terrified it will become a chemical like in August so can't feel too excited or happy yet...

@GanderousGoose that is so exciting. Congratulations! Did you have any symptoms that made you test?

GanderousGoose · 03/10/2020 08:51

I had nausea at 9dpo at work and quite badly in car but not sure it was related, as it has disappeared now and I'm mostly starving. Grin

Jaysdream7 · 03/10/2020 11:55

Look at those pinkies!!! 🥰

Today's at bottom - was anxious as line seemed to take longer to appear but got this way within ten mins.

How's everyone doing?

40PlusTTC · 04/10/2020 18:29

All good here. 4 or 5 days dpo and no symptoms but then I don’t suppose there would be at this stage. How are you feeling @GanderousGoose? Are you still testing?

whatever1980 · 05/10/2020 00:33

@GanderousGoose congratulations! Fantastic news! I hope you're well

GanderousGoose · 05/10/2020 06:47

Hi AF due today so keep your fx for me. I am still testing. Feeling anxious about line progression as doesn't look much between 12dpo and today at 14dpo and am definitely over-testing. Need to stop but it's so hard. I can't stand the thought that I might just start bleeding without the forewarning of a fainter test.

GanderousGoose · 05/10/2020 06:49

@40PlusTTC I'm feeling ok - no real symptoms yet. Boobs a bit sore but it's v mild and not as bad as how it sometimes gets before AF. Four weeks today! FX for you in a week or so's time.

40PlusTTC · 05/10/2020 07:48

Oh I know how stressful it is @GanderousGoose but try not not get hung up on line progression. So much can impact the concentration of HCG in your urine. Also when I had my missed miscarriage the darkest lines I ever had were a week after the baby died and those super dark lines continued for two weeks after my D&C. So darkness of line tells you little in my experience.

Jaysdream7 · 05/10/2020 08:18

@GanderousGoose yes I second that try to relax and enjoy the moment. Stress not good for you or baby. I always say what will the worry and overtesting achieve. I’ve had 11 loses but try not to let them effect me when I see those lines as it’s out of my control x

Help! I am 7 or 8 dpo but this is the second day with these line from clear blue early. 4 tests have shown these lines. First response was negative. I am officially too early or test apparently Wednesday is the earliest but surely these all can’t be wrong. You will have to zoom super faint but def there XX

It’s so hard waiting isn’t it @Jaysdream7. There does seem to be a line there but sometimes blue die tests have quite obvious indents so I would keep trying with some pink die tests. Or wait! But I can never wait...

I’m a bit panicked this morning as I have quite sharp pain in my left side. It’s too early for ectopic isn’t it? My period isn’t even due until Sat. Would you get ectopic pain that early? I hope not. It feels like an ovarian cyst I once had when I was about 15.

Huffthepuff · 05/10/2020 14:39

Hi all, would love to join. I'm 40 and have been trying to conceive for a year and a half. Had my ds in 2018 with no problems but since then I've had an ectopic (last September) and a very early mc this Feb.
AF due 11th Oct. I felt completely exhausted for 2 days on ovulation day and day after. Not sure if that's a real symptom but I remember something similar happening when I was pregnant with DS. Which I only realised retrospectively was due to being pregnant as I didn't take a test until I was about 7 weeks along. Would it be more likely to feel exhaustion at the time of implantation though?
I took a test this morning as I have zero patience. It was negative but I'm still holding out a bit of hope. Have been having fertility acupuncture for 2 months and DH and I taking supplements
Got my fingers crossed for you all

Jaysdream7 · 05/10/2020 14:42

Hi, nice to meet you I am due the same day as you xxx

Hi @Huffthepuff welcome to this lovely group.

How have you found the acupuncture im booked in tomorrow but not sure if to do it or not as shes saying I would need it weekly for the first month and then monthly from then on.

Huffthepuff · 05/10/2020 17:56

Ooh @Jaysdream7 we can be anxious together!

@kim80 I've enjoyed the acupuncture. It's relaxing and like having a fertility coach to chat to! I'm only having it once a month though. Any more regular would be unfeasible as it's quite a long way to the clinic and each session is expensive. See how you get on though. It's nice to chat to someone about what you're going through and try something new. Makes you feel like you're doing something if you know what I mean?! When otherwise you are pretty powerless.
No idea if it works though!
