We're beginning to think about number 2 and lots of people I know seem to have struggled with TTC number 2. Just wondering what everyone's experiences have been x

Bettysprocker · 05/09/2020 22:07

DC1 first try. DC2 3 years after deciding, hence the nine year gap.

Atla · 05/09/2020 22:09

2.5 years..... then about 10 mins! As a bonus 2 months for DC3.

princessbananahammock252 · 05/09/2020 22:10

3.5 years, failed fertility treatment and was told by 2 consultants that it'd never happen, then ectopic, told again it'd never happen,if it did it could be fatal.1 month later DD1.
DD2,1 month.

First time with DC1, second month with DC2. When we conceived DC1 we’d been together for 15 years without any sort of pregnancy scare and so I’d convinced myself it would take a while. Couldn’t believe it when it happened first time. Similarly with no 2 I thought it would be tough as I was 35 and my parents had struggled with secondary infertility. So again, I was surprised when it happened quickly. Very lucky, I know.

SomeHalfHumanCreatureThing · 05/09/2020 22:27

First, one try
Second, 3 miscarriages, over 3 horrible years. Only stuck once I started on aspirin

Echobelly · 05/09/2020 22:27

DC1 - I think it was literally on the first attempt! Shock My mum did warn me that she got UTD v easily.

DC2 - 5-6 months. I came off the pill and never got regular periods back before I conceived.

CountFosco · 05/09/2020 22:28

Al 3 of mine were conceived the first month of trying (DD2 by a single shag the last day of my period). All in my late 30s/early 40s as well.

FindingNeverland1 · 05/09/2020 22:31

Aged 23 I conceived on the first try. Dc1.

Aged 29 I conceived after 1year of actively TTC. And had been on no contraception for a long time beforehand. DC2.

Crazymummyto3 · 05/09/2020 22:45

We were very lucky that we fell pregnant first month of trying with our first three babies (I was aged 24, 27 and 32). I'm pregnant now aged 36 and it took 4 months this time

Fucket · 05/09/2020 22:55

About as long as it took for the kettle to boil...

HeyMicky · 05/09/2020 23:22

SeekingCoffee33 · 05/09/2020 23:33

sarahc336 · 05/09/2020 23:35

Jaysdream7 · 05/09/2020 23:43

Ds 1= 6 months
Da 2= 30 seconds 🤣

Bleepers · 06/09/2020 11:03

Thanks everyone! Generally pretty reassuring.

@ChelseaCat our baby is 10 months so think we'll stop using protection once she turns 1. Haven't got my periods back yet though so it may take a while! Feels crazy to be thinking about number 2 already! X

8 months, fell pregnant and had a mmc. It then took a further 8 months to conceive again. Basically, 19 months from when I first began.
