CM after coming off pill? TTC #1

Wondering if anyone is having or has had the same experience as myself?

I quit taking the pill on the 18th/19th of August, having been on it for 8 years with one break of 2 months (actively preventing conception by other means) where my cycle went back to completely normal (28 days I think)

Now I'm off again, ttc our first and I may be thinking far too much into this but I've produced very little cm, like none atall! I thought I'd be ovulating yesterday and I'm now having fainter lines on OPK's but no cm atall.

Has anyone else had this after coming off the pill? I know I've just come off of it and I am not expecting to become pregnant straight away!

@HopingForTheBest24 excitement short lived, had more ewcm but negative OPK, will test again tomorrow! But I'm more inclined to go with what my body is saying rather than sainsburys cheapest ovulation test 😂

@HeyDW96 what pill were you on and when did you stop? Wonder if this could be you loosing your mucous plug like I did as the pill makes it build up??

@HopingForTheBest24 rigivideon/Microgynon (same drug different brand) and I stopped 18th or 19th August!

@HeyDW96 I was on that one when I first started but switched to progesterone only from then due to migraines. I think your one contains both oestrogen and progesterone so can’t common on symptoms after stopping. I do know though that it’s not unusual for it to take a few months to get back to a regular cycle. Hopefully you’ll have an AF soon and can then track. That’s often the best way to know where you’re at in your cycle. Fingers crossed for you!

@HopingForTheBest24 I'm not sure, this morning was very jelly like, now tonight I can stretch it between my fingers so very like egg white! Sorry if this is tmi but I know from personal experience I watch threads like this and tmi is always what you want for reassurance 😂

Also, I was 16 when I went on the pill and just went with whatever they gave me, very uneducated and not much choice offered, they just said it was best for me. There's not a huge amount of awareness, especially in young people, about HOW the pill actually works!

So I just did this OPK and it is darker than last nights but still a negative as it isn't the same or darker than control line

@HeyDW96 thats nearing on a peak though, its not a total negative! Test again this afternoon
So saw this post and thought I would comment, I came off the microgynon in April, had 2 periods, 29 day cycles but no BFP so decided to do OPK and take my bbt to make sure I was ovulating, 2 cycles later got a BFP. So 4th cycle off the pill and I never got EWCM. 😊 So please don't stress if you don't!

Thanks, I know how annoying it is that it doesn't happen straight away, but our bodies are incredible and lots do fall pregnant pretty quick 🤞🤞 for you, get dtd!!

This is one that I used to start with a few days ago and had very faint lines! Looks high today

First one is now, second one is early afternoon. This peak has been and gone!

And the other brand - must've had my peak earlier and not tested!

Thought I'd come back here to update, as I see so many threads on MN that end very abruptly and you never get to know what happened. Turns out I did ovulate and I got a BFP yesterday! 💕

Oh my gosh @HeyDW96 this is AMAZING news!! Huge congratulations!! I'm over the moon for you.

I was actually thinking of writing on this group again because I ovulated on Saturday for sure (confirmed by OPKs and definite ovulation pain) but I have had absolutely no EWCM this month. Trying really hard not to read too much into it - we DTD a lot over the fertile window so I'll be covered Fromm that perspective but absolutely no EWCM is freaking me out.

@NoCallerID do you mind if I ask what Agnus Castus you used? I've been contemplating ordering some from Amazon. Lots of people say it works for them, but then I've come across a few that have had issues so bit worried about what's the right thing to do!

@MintGreenLife I think it really depends why you want to use it. If you have regular cycles, I wouldn't use it as it can mess them up a little. In my case, I've had very long and irregular cycles so worth a go. I've also had 3 chemical pregnancies in a row and I believe that my progesterone is low so have done a lot more research into Agnus Castus and have now ordered the correct ones (20mg is what all studies are based on, amazon and other retailers only sell 4mg due to newish regulations on herbal supplements) from here www.primehealthdirect.com/product/agnus-castus/
I've been referred to a recurrent miscarriage clinic but the waiting times are long and my GP won't prescribe progesterone so until then I will continue to take the 20mg even past ovulation to try and keep progesterone production up.

@NoCallerID lovely thank you. My cycles aren't good since I came off the pill - I'm 6 months off and my longest cycle was 55 days, but that's the only cycle I seem to have ovulated (I'm charting BBT and using OPKs), so things aren't going very well so far! x

@MintGreenLife that definitely sounds like you could benefit from AC!! Give it a go, it might take a couple of cycles to kick in fully so it's not a instant fix. I know there's not really such thing as patience when TTC but it also helped me mentally knowing I was doing something to help my body.

@NoCallerID thanks ☺️ I do feel like it could be a good option for me, but I'm also super worried about making things worse 😕 So hard to know what the right thing to do is!
