@candycrush2298 I've just had paracetamol (and wearing my glasses) will go to the shop on the way to work and get something abit stronger! Work on a Sunday should be banned ugh!

candycrush2298 · 06/09/2020 11:09

@Welliedays wow you have the patience of a Saint like truly. I am such a planner like I would need to know the gender so we have the final name, the nursery like I need to plan it all hahahhaha I am not big on surprises they freak me out when I am unprepared whahahaha.
You are so blessed to be such a relaxed person I am so jealous hahaha.

@Kaybobx I agree working on a Sunday should most definitely be banned. Well done wearing your glasses so proud of you 💜 hope you can get something stronger soon xx

Arghhh my clear blue monitor still says high not peak. I have loads of ewcm today. I
Only have one cheap opk left too. Really thought the monitor would peak today.

Welliedays · 06/09/2020 11:16

Haha @candycrush2298 only because I keep thinking something will go wrong if I plan too much!! I might buy a few clothes and a car seat before it's born! Not sure if we'll have one name for a boy and one name for a girl or whether we'll have a few we like and than wait to see what suits them once they're born 🤔

Boden have a REALLY cute cardigan with farm animals and tractors on it. It's £32 though 🤯 (this is the fault of sponsored posts by the way), I need to remember by budget will be Asda, not Boden 😂😂😂😂

candycrush2298 · 06/09/2020 11:27

@snapple21 awwwww no really thought you would have chances are your opk will be positive today and tomorrow will be peak if you having ewcm.

@Welliedays I completely understand the fear is always there isnt it. Oooooh it just sounds so exciting whatever you choose to do name wise will be amazing!!

OMG!! £32 is expensive!! Like wow!!! I think with clothes they only gonna wear it so little because they grow so fast no point having super expensive name brands but then other times I think they look so cute kitted out in the branded things hahahah who knows what I will do. But 100% agree £32 is harsh lol

snapple21 · 06/09/2020 11:32

I wonder if it's cause I'm testing on the monitor in the morning. Previously I'd do afternoon. Going to do my last cheap opk when I get home from work tonight and it might be 'peak'.

Elakiya · 06/09/2020 11:35

@candycrush2298 I'm the same as @Welliedays I don't want to know until the baby is born too.

But obviously it means I can't have a gender reveal or like you say plan how the nursery will look etc.

Also fun fact that I don't know whether you guys would know, but I'm south asian so my family are quite big on astrology. When the baby is born they'll be given a letter based on the time they were born and then we pick a name based on that. So unless I want to be picking out a name for each gender baby for all the letters of the alphabet I think I'll have to wait. Got a few favourites picked out though :P

Welliedays · 06/09/2020 11:41

Ahh wow @elakiya, I love that you get a letter for the time they're born. That's so cool and would probably help indecisive me ahah. I think even if I found out I wouldn't do a gender reveal, I'd quite like being the only ones to know. I don't think I'm going to put too much online about it either, going to try to resist posting photos once it's born too, just because I want it to be able to choose if it has an online presence or not.

I know @snapple21, it's crazy. I have seen they do it up to age 2-3 or something, so you could nearly justify it then as it should last a while... But defs going to stick to cheap and cheerful for baby sizes!

candycrush2298 · 06/09/2020 11:41

@snapple21 its definitely possible didn't you say you usually always peak in the evening? Which means if you peak tonight the monitor will say so in the morning.

@Elakiya wow you and @Welliedays are just awesome hahaha! I cant be waiting that long my patience is extremely limited. I like things to happen now hence me already saying I will be paying for private scans cant be waiting 10 million years for the first scan on the NHS lol!!! I need to hear that heartbeat like ASAP lol!! My anxiety wouldn't handle the unknown one bit. I am truly envious of you two that are so super chilled. I am even going to do a harmony test at 10 weeks because my sister is special needs so will be learning the gender from then already 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Wow that is super interesting I had no idea that you did that. That must be super fun that the whole family gets involved!! Can understand you not wanting to pick out names for both genders with every letter of the alphabet lol!!!

OP posts:
Welliedays · 06/09/2020 12:26

I'm not paying for scans... I'm too scared something is wrong so I'd rather live in denial a little bit longer, and would rather not pay to find out something is wrong when I can find out for free!! I also can't afford them, I did look to see the cost, but they're quite expensive 🙄

candycrush2298 · 06/09/2020 12:44

@Welliedays we are all different you do what's best for you. If not knowing is better for you then you do that girl!! You know yourself and what's best 💜💜.
Because chromosomal issues run in my family I need to know for sure if our baby will have it or not. The NIPT Harmony test is very expensive about £400 but for us its vital to know. The scans are about £80 which is affordable to us to help my anxiety. I would go for our first scan at 7weeks or so just to hear the heartbeat and know our bean is OK.

OP posts:
Elakiya · 06/09/2020 12:56

@candycrush2298 My parents had 2 babies after me and both died of the same disease therefore I am now absolutely paranoid that I had a recessive version of whatever this issue is (there english isn't great so I don't think they ever understood what the cause of death was and i was only 6/7 at the time so I didn't understand either) so like you I'd probably pay for some extra scans just to put my mind at ease.

candycrush2298 · 06/09/2020 13:02

@Elakiya awww I am so sorry to hear that, must have been an absolutely brutal experience I cant even begin to understand that kind of pain. It must be part of your soul being taken away from you. Just too sad. Yeah for me I need to know. Hubby feels exactly the same way the two of us are on the exact same page when it comes to the testing.

OP posts:
Kaybobx · 06/09/2020 13:05

@candycrush2298 i was the same, had millions of scan haha!! They are only £45 where i am so its definitely doable. I also brought a fetal doppler @snapple21 will shout at me for that haha.
My midwife didn't recommend it at all as the placenta sounds very much like a heartbeat so you could be thinking all is ok when it really isn't. I learnt to be able to tell the difference though.
I used to get home from work everyday and listen straight for the heartbeat. Crazily obsessed haha

Kaybobx · 06/09/2020 13:07

@Elakiya oh no! Your poor parents, that must of been just devastating 😭

candycrush2298 · 06/09/2020 13:16

@Kaybobx I will be watching YouTube videos on how to tell the difference on the doppler lol obviously!! obviously will be going for a lot of scans, I only looked at the price of the 4d scans which were £80 or £90 cant remember now lol so possibly the standard scans are cheaper and will most definitely be doing them frequently lol. But in the weeks of no scans I will be using a doppler (I know you don't like them @snapple21 sorrrryyyy in advance hahahah) I understand completely your obsession I will be exactly the same 🤣🤣

Boc86 · 06/09/2020 14:07

@Elakiya yeah I’m 4dpo
It is flying though because of how busy I am with the house move

I’ll definitely have early scans because I’ll be terrified of something going wrong
I’ll have one at 7, 10.5 and then nhs 12 weeks one then I’ll be fine till my 20 week one
Also not finding our gender

Hope everyone’s well x

candycrush2298 · 06/09/2020 14:20

@Boc86 hey how is the move going? Are you finished moving and just unpacking or not yet??

Well done on not wanting to know gender you guys are so strong hahah.

OP posts:
Boc86 · 06/09/2020 14:44

We’re doing the last van load from my old house today then this house is empty
Got so much unpacking to do in the new house but it’s defo a bit straighter and I know where the most important bits are that we need for next week
Then Monday and Tuesday I need to come back to the old house and clean it x

candycrush2298 · 06/09/2020 14:46

@Boc86 at least you're literally on the last haul that's great news. Then after the cleaning its just sorting out isn't it.

@candycrush2298 @Kaybobx Thanks I don’t think at that age I appreciated how painful those losses would have been. Especially because my mum and dad were in Great Ormond street hospital for ages whilst they tried to save the baby. It’s really sad. This is one of the reasons why me getting pregnant would be so special to my mum. I really hope I manage it somehow.

@Boc86 Where did you say you were from. Only curious as our new neighbours are moving in lol and I wonder if it’s you!

Elakiya · 06/09/2020 14:55

@candycrush2298 I was checking my cervical position. It didn’t rise after ovulation. It’s risen now but I think in general my cervix just stays quite low?

Elakiya · 06/09/2020 14:57

@candycrush2298 just found this.

So I am definitely usually low or medium I don’t think I am ever high

CSG (Thread 3)
candycrush2298 · 06/09/2020 15:21

@Elakiya of course you were just a small child yourself you wouldn't have understood the loss. Awww I truly hope you get your bfp hun thank you for sharing with us. Must have been so tough on your family even if you weren't yet able to understand the loss.

Did it rise before ovulation? Have you been checking it at the same time everyday (excluding days of BD and arousal as that could make it go higher)

If you have then its a really good sign that its high now after ovulation. Lets hope it stays high!! Wow that would be amazing if it stays up all the time.

OP posts:
Elakiya · 06/09/2020 17:09

@candycrush2298 I never check at the same time. Is that wrong? It’s gone down again now.

I have my usual back pain now. Let’s see if I get my low achey cramps tomorrow 😅 that will be enough to confirm my AF approaching
