Hi everyone :) my fiance and I going to start TTC after our wedding (5 weeks today!!) so I'm wondering if anyone has any good recommendations for books on conceiving and increasing fertility? I'd love to have something to read to learn more about the process Smile TIA

Make sure you’re taking folic acid already. Ideally a few months before.
Taking charge of your fertility seems like the most obvious recommendation.

I recommend the impatient women’s guide to getting pregnant. It’s a great one to read before you actually start TTC. I read it after I’d been trying for 6ish months and felt it was more aimed at new TTCers. Good luck! x

Congrats on your upcoming wedding, hope you have a lovely day 😊

I’m in the same boat, DH and I plan to begin TTC in a January. I’ve read both Taking Charge of Your Fertility and the Impatient Woman’s Guide - I would recommend both! TCOYF is basically the bible for learning how to read the fertility signs your body gives off throughout your cycle and gives a thorough explanation of how to chart your cycle using various methods, if you are interested in charting or just want a general understanding of how your body works re fertility it’s a must IMO. I first read it 2 years ago when I stopped HBC and it was a real eye opener, why on earth don’t they teach this in school instead of telling us we can get pregnant if a boy so much as looks at us (spoiler alert:- I think I just answered my own question there lol). The Impatient Woman’s Guide is less sciencey - it does give a brief run down of how to read your body but refers you to TCOYF for how to properly do it, it’s more focused on preparing you for the changes you should make to your lifestyle before TTC and the emotional journey of the whole process. Both very worthwhile for different reasons.

I haven’t read it yet but It Starts With The Egg is also supposed to be good for things you can do to improve your egg quality before TTC 😊

No additional books but I can't recommend the clearblue advanced fertility monitor enough. I've got pregnant on the first cycle twice now, just by using that. It tells you when to test and monitors your hormone surges to let you know when to dtd.
I believe they have an updated version with an app now but I have the older digital monitor version.

Thank you so much for your recommendations - books ordered and I can't wait to learn more about the process, there's so much I had no idea about!
