PMS breakouts etc before BFP?

Hello all, doing the inevitable pointless symptom-probing but I wondered if anyone prone to breaking out (especially a few days before AF) found they did so in the days leading up to a BFP?

Am 9DPO approx and had a smattering of spots appear on my chin this evening. A brief Google leads me to understand that pre-AF spots are usually a product of the fall in progesterone and oestrogen that precedes menstruation, which has me suspecting that today's breakout is a likely step down in likelihood of a BFP. My overall symptoms this last few days have been very much of a piece with my usual pre-period symptoms. I don't remember there being any dramatic indicators that AF was probably not on the way until a day or two before AF was due when I was last pregnant... but we are going back a way, so A my memory of it all is quite faint and B my luteal symptoms etc are not exactly as they were then.

I know we're not out till the red lady sings, but has anyone else had a very "normal" luteal phase and still got a BFP?

I get the odd spot before af. Both times I’ve got my bfp my skin has been awful. I never had bad skin as a teenager, so I feel like Mother Nature is getting her own back 😅🙈

Hi I am also 9 dpo and doing the pointless symptom probing!!! I have bad skin generally buy this last week my spots on/ under my jawline have been really bad!!!
I posted the below on another thread but have had light cramping today, and now it's bit more intense and in tummy and back but only on the right side. Almost feels hot and like a pinching or tingling. I never noticed anything like this with my first pregnancy... could it be implantation?!
TTC this time round about 4 months and AF due 4th Sept. Too early to test isn't it.
Good luck, OP!

Sansa87 thank you, that is reassuring! I'd somehow talked myself into it being a dead cert no on the basis of the spots alone. I retain some hope!

And Sosocold.. me too! Exactly the same symptoms here. So hard not to obsess over every twinge and twang. The very best of luck to you ❤️

aaah i've just been wondering all this haha. Got kinda rashy chest; get a few litle red spots usually before AF. Also got reaaaally sore boobs which usually only get just before AF but on like CD20 now. So wondering if this is all different, or just my body being a pain and im going to be spotty with sore boobs for the next week and a bit haha.
tbf im sure it is only cos im paying more attention now TTC, but every month symptoms fluctuate so prob am reading more into any of this!

Sosocold · 30/08/2020 07:22

@sheetspread have you been tempted to test yet? I tested yesterday morning and as way too early I fully expected a negative, but to my surprise it was a BFP! I'm trying to not get too excited, pretty convinced I had a chemical a couple of months back, so fingers crossed this one sticks.

Good luck xx

@Sosocold - ohhh CONGRATULATIONS!! That's wonderful!

I've been so tempted!! But managed to hold out so far, my periods always come exactly a couple of hours short of 14 days after my first positive OPK, literally like clockwork, so am aiming to hold out until the day my period's due and if it hasn't reared its head by tea time I'll test.

I am feeling very AFy today, more than I was when I posted my OP, so have a feeling this month is not my month, but we shall see!
