To test or not to test!?

A bit stupid but I really don't want to test early this month. Can't bear those days between the BFN and AF - last month I had 10 of them as I'm still regulating after DD.

However I'm supposed to be giving blood on Thursday when I'll be just 12DPO. Do you think I could risk it and give blood without testing first? Pretty sure this isn't our month anyway but can't be 100%.

If it were me I'd test with FMU before I went. I'm not sure why you're not allowed to give blood whilst pregnant but it's better to know in advance. You could give them a call that morning if you find out you're pregnant and see what they say.

If it's because they can't use blood with pregnancy hormones in it then they'd presumably test it themselves, realise it was unsuitable and chuck it away anyway. So it's not worth the time and effort that goes into collecting it if that's the case.

If it's just that it's not sensible to take blood from an expectant mother then that's probably for a reason? From memory it takes 4-8 weeks from donation to replacing the red blood cells. Lots of people get pregnancy related anemia and if you're growing a baby at the same time as replacing blood cells....
