Yes i'm mad but i was just wondering? I thought that you had to have a break but for how long?

ideally a year to recover, but lots of women get pregnant sooner

just wait for the hormonal high to wear off, many, many women feel like this the weeks after having a baby. your body is in a primal state, and very hormonal, and going, 'woo hoo ! that was fun, let's do it again!!!'

pregnancy and birth do take a toll on your body and mind, so give yourself a chance to take a breather

or not

Sheherazadethegoat · 04/10/2007 14:47

i guess as soon as your periods return

belgo · 04/10/2007 14:50

I agree, wait for your hormones to calm down first

missyhols · 04/10/2007 15:29

Lol lulu. I know my hormones are mad i was exactly same with dd1. We're not about to try tomorrow Lol. Also when will periods return? I bf last time so obviously took a while.

you mad women is your 2DD a month yet?

I didnt BF with my first my milk never came in and my period came back the next month so in theory you could start ttc within a month

missyhols · 04/10/2007 15:58

Cheers hun. I won't be trying that soon! I'll enjoy these two bit longer. Dd2 is 3 and bit weeks so still tiny although She's getting huge already

I started TTC when DS was 6 months, got PG when he was 9months.

Id say wait until she is 6 months.

Gives you a bit of time with her.

Missy I have a friend who had her two children within a year - new years eve has a lot to answer for! It is only because the 2DB was a week late that they are not in the same year at school - so there you go. Another friend didn't have a period between children so beware too! The only thing is that the labour can be v quick if you have them close together. The friend who didn't have a period nearly had her baby in the car on the way to the hospital and they only live 20 mins away!

fawkeoff · 04/10/2007 20:41

missy congrats hun

fawkeoff · 04/10/2007 20:43

my sil had her 1st daughter and found out she was preggers again 2 months after.I must tell you though that when the midwife used to come and see me when i had just given birth to ds she told me that she was looking after a woman who got pregnant 3 WEEKS aftet giving birth im not lying

poppysocks · 04/10/2007 20:50

When I had DD my godmother sent me beautiful flowers with a card attached that simply said 'Congratulations. Please don't forget that breast feeding isn't a fail-safe contraceptive'. She has 10.5 month gap between her children, proof that the body can do it, but she had a terrible time. Not helped by the fact that even as adults now they still hate one another (although that could be nothing to do with being so close in age - and in the same year at school. Surely doesn't help though!)

missyhols · 04/10/2007 21:41

Thanks fawkeoff how are you. I had just under 3 hour labour so god knows how quick it would be if i was to have another quite soon

OP posts:
fawkeoff · 04/10/2007 21:43

i told you the second one is quicker...mine was just over 3 hours.i can't even belive your thinking about having another one already is it "i miss my bump" syndrome creeping in????

coggy · 04/10/2007 21:47

We were ttc 2 weeks after having my ds ...but circumstances were alot different to most post birth.
It took us nearly 5 years ttc him so we thought we'd better geton with it quickly!!!!

My MW said there was no reason that she could see for not ttc again as soon as we were emotionally ready...and waiting for a period was just to help with dates if we fell pg the first month of trying.

missyhols · 04/10/2007 21:47

Yeah could say that. Also i would love three children. Just don't want to go and get into a new career and the two girls grow up and then do it again. IYKWIM? I want them to all be close in age. I'm mad maybe? Lol.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 04/10/2007 21:49

Doc recommended 18 months but Ds2 was concieved when Ds1 was 4 months!

fawkeoff · 04/10/2007 21:50

if you feel strongly about it and you know that u can cope with three young children then you go for it.I dont want anymore children personally but it doesnt mean i think people are mad to want big families.I may have to start buying some more bags off you for your baby funds lol

missyhols · 04/10/2007 21:52

Lol. We'll see! X

I've got 19mo between ds1 and dd, then 16mo between dd and ds2. 2 years and 262 days between ds1 and ds2!

It is very hard work though. My 3rd pg was hard emotionally, I think because I was so tired from running round after ds1 and dd with no break from 6am til 6pm. I really struggled at times but dh was great and let me sleep in every weekend which did help.

Birthwise, I had a 33 hours, 3.5 hours and 2 hours. Wouldn't like to have a 4th because I doubt I'd make it to the hospital!

They're now 3.9, 2.1 and 9mo and it's getting easier. Life is manic and chaotic, my house is a permanent mess and I'm always shattered but it's all worth it when ds1 and dd are making ds2 laugh and they entertain each other brilliantly.

haychEebeeJeebees · 04/10/2007 22:05

Yes you are mad

CastsSpellsWitchySpells · 04/10/2007 22:11

One of my friends (who I think lives in same town as you) had her dd2 4 days before her dd1's first birthday. She is now expecting dc3 when her dd1 will be just 27 months .

haychEebeeJeebees · 04/10/2007 22:25

Her body must be destroyed from the quick succession of pg-ies.

haychEebeeJeebees · 04/10/2007 22:26

That doesnt read right,
her body will be knackered, beyond repair, no going back, destroyed, from the repeated pregnancies in such quick succession.

CastsSpellsWitchySpells · 04/10/2007 22:28

It read ok the first time! I guess she won't know until at least next year! Neither numbers 2 nor 3 were planned btw.
