Panicking because of short cycles

Hi everyone,

We've not started ttc no. 3 yet as we have an event in May 2021 that I didn't want to clash with any potential birth. We're starting next cycle.

I'm full on panicking because this morning AF arrived and I'm only cycle day 24. Since my periods returned 20 months after having dd2 my cycles have definitely been shorter but recently they've been 26 days and even had a cycle of 28 days- really pleased with this.

I've tried to change my diet in the run up to ttc to maximise fertility, although I'm on holiday at the moment so that's on pause! I'm still bf but my 4yo only feeds once a day at bedtime and she tells me there's hardly any milk. I guess the physical suckling could affect my hormones. But or cause I'm panicking that I'm perimenopausal. I'm 33 and my mum didn't go through menopause until her 50s but I'm still v worried.

I think it's my folliclular phase that is short rather than the luteal phase. I don't temp, just track ewcm.

Any advice or reassurance from anyone? Thanks.

I have short cycles and ovulate around cd10 - as long as your luteal phase is above 10 days it shouldn't be an issue. I had a scan on cd9 this cycle and had 2 dominant follicles and ovulated 2 days later. I have concieved 3 times - I have miscarried these but unrelated to my short cycles - I have other fertility difficulties.

My sister has even shorter cycles than me and has 2 children with no issues.

Maybe try tracking your cycle if you're concerned about your luteal phase.
