Hi all,

Looking for any information from those with PCOS.
This is our first month ttc baby #1. I have a history of PCOS and suspected endometriosis.
My cycles are irregular with most 31-38 days but some as long as 50 days (none in last six months). Last cycle was only 24 days.
Im currently day 23 and have been Using OPks since day 8 with no positives..(I’ve used around 70 strips!🙈)
Some tests look as if they are close to becoming positive but the next one taken is then faint again! I’m having no signs of ovulation (ewcm etc).
Has anyone experience of getting a BFP with negative OPKs and no fertile cm? I’m suspecting that I’m just regularly having anovulatory cycles...All advice welcome!

Hello I had really irregular cycles ttc my first and I believe I have PCOS. For me I was getting near positive opks but then it went away. It was like my body was trying to ovulate but not always getting there. I found a podcast called PCOS diva which I found really informative. I ended up taking inositol, going on a low carb diet, doing quite a bit of exercise and this is when I got pregnant. It took us a year as it’s so hard when your cycles are irregular. I’d keep using the opks and when they are looking close to positive have sex then anyway as sperm can live inside you for a few days. I also bought the femometer I think it’s called as that doesn’t tell you before but it is clear afterwards which day you ovulated. Good luck!

Not me, but a family member. She was ttc for years. After so many years not being successful she completely changed her diet, cut out carbs ect and went on metformin for a while and that's what did it for her.
Theres a whole rabbit hole of information on google about pcos, and hormone issues in general and carbohydrates.

Thanks very much to you both for your help! I’ve just looked into the pcos diet and will definitely be giving it a go...I’ve certainly been over-indulging in the Covid treats!
Will also order the femometer! 😊

Def speak to your GP about it btw, many women with PCOS benefit from medication in order to start ovulating.

In the meantime I'd suggest tracking your temp to see if you ovulate. LH strips are supposed to be much less accurate if you have PCOS.
