Hi all,

I was in hospital end of last week as I had been having severe cramping and nausea all week with a fluctuating body temperature which was going from 36.8 to 38.2 and having problems having a wee. I thought I was due on my period on the 22nd or 26th of July However I cannot actually remember when my last period was. I have PCOS but my periods mainly fall between 30-35 days and I have lost a lot of weight recently in an attempt to try and conceive. They did a pregnancy test in the hospital and I thought nothing of it. I was then informed that it was positive and my blood was also positive at 121 which placed me around 4 weeks. This was on Thursday. Today I took a home pregnancy test as I’m still having some cramps and now approaching what I think is my period date. The line came up immediately and is quite dark so I’m wondering if I’m further along than 4 weeks. I think me and my husband think I’m 5 weeks. Has anybody else experienced cramps and in everybody’s experience how far along where you when you had immediate detection on home pregnancy tests ?

Well, an ovulation doesn't have to be exactly 14 days before your period, it can be a few days earlier or later, plus from ovulation till implantation can also vary by 3 days. So it's possible to be a week different than from what you thought.

I got a dark test when I found out about 5 weeks Smile

I honestly wouldn't worry too much - when you go for your scan at 12(ish) weeks you'll be dated then, and that's the date you'll go by throughout the rest of your pregnancy.
