Hia as title says mu copper coil went on a walk about and has left uterus and is in a pouch between uterus and bowel.
Called Douglas pouch apparently.
I don't know how long it's been there but I've had coil on since January and didn't feel any pain.
Only found out about it moving as went to have it removed to ttc.
So turns out we've been having unprotected sex for months and I've not caught.
We conceived our son, now near 8 months, first try so I'm quite frightened this coil has messed me up inside.
Has this happened to anyone else or know of anyone else and happy ending?
Dr's don't class it as an emergency as I'm not in pain so are happy leaving it there till this covid situation is over with.
They've even said I can crack on ttc.
She said it won't affect fertility but I'm sure she saying that to cover their backs and remove blame or something.

Hey @MrsxRocky - I'm so sorry this happened to you and it must be anxiety provoking. Getting pregnant on the first cycle is actually really unlikely, even for people who are 100% fine and fertile. Every cycle, even if you have sex at exactly your most fertile time, you only have about a 30% chance of conceiving. It's completely normal for couples to take a year to conceive even if nothing is wrong at all.

So basically, I completely understand why you are worried, but please try not to worry

Has no one got a coil in them that NHS won't take out and fell pregnant? Not in uterus but has gone into a pocket outside of it.

Not really the point of this thread, but did you have the coil fitted knowing that you'd be wanting it taken out so soon after to TTC again? Based on your son only being 8 months that is. I thought they were designed to be a long term contraceptive?

I wanted non hormonal contraception.
