Temp takes days to rise after ovulation? Anyone experienced this?

Hi all,

I’ve been temping now for a couple of cycles. I have pretty regular cycles (about 27 days) and for months have been getting positive OPKs around CD 13/14, along with a bit of EWCM.

However my temperature seems to take several days (5-6) to rise after predicted ovulation. Eg this month,+ OPK last Sat and Sun, very slight rise (from 36.12 to 36.32) on the Tuesday - so Natural Cycles said I ovulated on the Monday - but then temps have stayed around 36.30ish for the rest of the week. It’s only today (Sunday!) I’ve had a proper increase, to 36.60. Had to discount two temps this week as slept really badly, which doesn’t help.
I’ve been a bit spotty and moody this week, which I think often indicates ovulation for me - CM has gone sticky.

Having googled it, seems that taking days and days to rise could indicate low progesterone / endo / thyroid issues. Perhaps it’s just normal for me...?

Any insight or similar experience would be great Smile

@yellowbelliedcreature if you didnt say when you got your pos OPK I would have said you ovulated CD12 maybe CD13 based on temps. I think some people do get more of a gradual rise. Xx

Thank you @VP91x! Yes it does look like I had a steeper rise then. I’m using internet cheapies OPK this month and find them harder to read.

Honestly all the tempting and OPKs is stressful. I’ve been waking in the night anxious about what my temp will be Blush more trouble than it’s worth!

@yellowbelliedcreature oh no, please try -(although I know sometimes impossible) to try not to get so anxious over temps that you can't sleep otherwise they won't be an accurate picture of what is actually going on. On any of the days was the test line darker than the control line? Or as dark? That would indicate a positive OPK x

@VP91x yes was about as dark both on the sat and sun! Just don’t find it as obvious as Sainsburys own brand for eg. Have taken them all week and not a sniff of any other lines! I guess I’ll have to temp for a few months before I can say with any certainty what my pattern is. Just frustrating when I’ve been trying for so long and am so desperate!! Thanks for your help Smile
