Hello, looking for some advice please. I stopped taking microgynon in April. Had the usual withdrawal bleed but have had no after flow, I took two pregnancy tests at the end of May which were negative, I took one the middle of June - negative. Still no after flow so I took another two days ago and it was positive! I ended up taking four tests that day including a week predictor which said 3+ weeks. I spoke to my nurse today who said I'm 9+6 days pregnant based on my withdrawal bleed from the pill. I don't understand how that can be with 3 negative tests previously... help?! We have booked an early scan which is in two weeks time but I currently have no clue of how far along I am.

Chances are you're not 9+6 but that's just how they date pregnancy before a dating scan, from date of last period. You probably ovulated a lot more recently than that but can't be sure until you've been scanned. Similar happened to me, my cycles were all over the place and very long when I came off the pill - midwife treat me as 10 weeks (going off last period) but I knew I wasn't that far along as had also had more recent negative tests. Dating scan confirmed I was only 8 weeks so they adjusted things from there. Without knowing exactly when you've ovulated it's impossible to say without a scan really! Hopefully you'll have a better idea after your private scan but midwives will go off an NHS dating scan.
