Me and DH will begin TTC in November! Part of me is excited but also very nervous as lately I feel I’ve been hearing a lot of stories about people who’ve tried for 5+ years and suffered many miscarriages and the thought of us going through that breaks my heart! I know we’d get through it of course but would not like to go that.

On the other hand I know that a lot of people say and some statistics say most couples conceive within a year of trying.

I guess I just want to hear positive and real stories! I do not want to go into the experience dreading a struggle that I may be lucky enough to not experience!

I’m 25 - 12 months off contraception, but 8 cycles actively tracking etc, to conceive however ended in early MC. Now at month 15 and back TTC again (first baby).

I asked a similar question when we started out & I feel like it filled me with a lot of false hope and made the disappointment each month worse. Hopefully you don’t have to experience that disappointment also, but know that it’s totally normal for it to take a bit of time. A lot of lucky people on this thread so far. Good luck on your journey xx

I was 24 and it took 3 months, tracked from the 2nd cycle but I think we were very lucky.

Elliexoxo · 07/07/2020 09:39

Took us 8 months to fall pregnant with my son, I was 23 ❤️

Conceived first month of tracking cycle at 32. My partner said it would happen straight away but I told him it might not - turned out he was right in our case. I think you hear more about how long it can take as opposed to how quick it can be too.

I've got positive stories for you! I've been pregnant 4 times, 3 were not planned, one was ectopic. I get pregnant ridiculously easily.
The one time I was actually trying I got pregnant on my first cycle after getting my Mirena removed.

Thank you for the positive stores and real stories so far guys!

Of course I want to be realistic and know that although I’ll be 23 when we start that it could take longer than a few months, however the thought of this was making me feel quite down and I experienced panic attacks due to this thought. So I don’t want to be worrying in case that doesn’t happen to us and then I would’ve spent months of wasted energy worrying about something bad when it potentially couldn’t affect us!

I hope I am as lucky as some of you lovely ladies have been!

1st month off contraception is complete (I am cycle tracking) and so far everything has ran smoothly which is a good sign - of course this does not determine if we’ll conceive quickly but it is still quite a good sign imo!

I'm 28 and DH is 34.
First month TTC #1 - this ended in a left ectopic removal of tube at 5.4weeks
Second time TTC after surgery was 4 months after surgery, successful on second month of trying - this also ended in an ectopic at 6weeks.

Waiting until we can try again as I'm only 1 week post op.

Keeping fingers crossed for our rainbow baby

Caaat · 07/07/2020 14:39

Started TTC #1 in July 2017. I was almost 35. Got my BFP in January 2018 then miscarried at 7 weeks. Started TTC again straight away and got my BFP in April 2018. Baby girl was born in December 2018 and is now 18 months old

flossletsfloss · 07/07/2020 14:47

First cycle both times and I was 33 and 35. Good luck 🍀

@Elouera

How old are you OP?

I started TTC age 32. Still TTC 9yrs on and 3 losses later. Not the norm at all, but can happen.

I have a good egg count, very regular periods, no endo, PCOS, DH has good sperm count and no cause for infertility found other than being old eggs!

Same here, TTC 9yrs with all the tests ok so I guess it's just old eggs!

but it's such a drag and don't really know if it will ever happen, even with IVF! I blame the contraceptive pill, I bet it makes you infertile (I did have a termination in my early twenties, so I was pregnant once!)
