What do you count as CD1?

Hi ladies,

Very interested in whether CD1 is the day you may see some spotting/a tiny tinge of period or whether it is in fact the day you fully come 'on'? I'm tracking my cycle at the moment and realise I may have been a day out the entire time Confused

Thanks in advance Smile

hmmm i wondered this too! I went from day of spotting etc....no idea if thats right!

I had this with my last period, I went from the day it started and didn't stop if you know what I mean. Like if you get spotting one day and nothing the next, that's not day 1. I had some spotting then light, then the next day full flow, so I went with the day I started spotting as it then developed... 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think it's supposed to be the first day you wake up with a period... so if it starts at 10.30am or 8pm on Saturday, CD1 is Sunday.

It's the first day you see proper blood flow.

I was told CD 1 is the first day you get proper flow (light still counts, but not spotting). But if it's the afternoon then you count the next day as day 1.
That was from my gp though, not my gyne.

For me, I always get one maybe two days of spotting, then tend to wake up with light flow which gets heavier later in the the day and last for around 7 days.

Midwives always told me it's the day you get bright red blood flow - not just a bit of brown, pink etc.
