TTC Cycle #2

I was hoping to get some thoughts and advice from anyone who has experience, im completely new to TTC!

In cycle 1, I used the one step ovulation test strips. Around CD16, I started to see an LH surge but the test line was never darker than the control line - but it was darker than others so I assumed ovulation was around CD18-19. Anyway, we BD for four days around my fertile period. I then around CD21 had cramps on my left side which made me wonder if I ovulated much later - but I continued with the OPK testing and it showed no LH surge after CD16 ... We didn't fall pregnant - I normally have 28-32 day cycles

So this cycle, same again. CD16+CD17, my LH around 3.30pm was up compared to previous days strips but never as dark as the control line. I also monitored my cervical mucus which was watery on 16+17 so we BD on CD13,14 and CD16, 17

I ended up buying the clearblue ones yesterday and on the first test it showed a solid smiley face - which means peak fertility because LH was detected - but because it was the first test, I could have been on my last day of peak fertility as it's usually 24-48 hours according to CB (I hope that makes sense)

So today I've noticed my sore boobs have started which means my progesterone is up pretty instantly and they'll only get sorer as time goes on - positive sign of ovulation?

What do you ladies think? Did we target the right days? Should we BD again for good measure and then keep going every other day until AF?

Any help and advice to would be really appreciated as I'm a complete novice to all of this and only just learning and paying attention to my body!
