Sharp pain in uterus followed by aching in groin?

PT8998 · 21/06/2020 21:05

Has anyone ever experienced this in their TWW?

Background: I am approx 6/7DPO, and last night I had a sharp twinge/pain centrally (where I imagine the fallopian tube/uterus is) and it lasted all of a few minutes. After that went, it started as a dull ache, which again lasted a few minutes. When that passed, it moved to my right groin. It feels like a cross between a dull ache and then a throbbing type of sensation. It went away last night and has now been back this morning and this evening.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thank!

@Fran2020 oh no! I am so sorry! I hope this cycle is your BFP! I don’t think it’ll happen. I have just had the most weird cycle. A stark white negative isn’t a good sign at this point. I was referred for IVF on Thursday, so I’m just going to relax now and wait for that to come around!

Thank you. If AF had started in supposed to be having another MMR vaccine on Tuesday as I don't have immunity to rubella. Having that means I have to wait to TTC for a month.
However, the vaccine probably won't give me immunity if none of the others in the past have. 😔
Keeping my fingers crossed for you this cycle? How long have you been TTC?

msunflower · 27/06/2020 11:37

I'm about 7DPO and I'm pretty sure I have just had implantation bleeding. My period isn't due for just under two weeks time and it was only a small bit of darker/brown diluted blood. Got some cramping now and feeling a bit nauseous. I was feeling a bit nauseous the last couple of afternoons but I thought it was my mind playing tricks on me. I also just feel a bit different, none of these symptoms are PMS symptoms for me. This is my first cycle of ttc, I'm guessing this is a good sign? Earliest I can test is in six days time!

Oh no! Well, hopefully, they get it done sooner rather than later and then you can get back to TTC again in no time at all.

I wouldn't waste your energy! I am now CD65. I have PCOS, I had some positive tests at the end of May and didn't bleed but then got a positive OPK. I have always had accurate OPK's in the past but now I am beginning to believe that I have just fluked it and they weren't positive at all (or I at least didn't ovulate at all). I mean, I may well still get a positive pregnancy test, but I am not holding my breath at all!

In total, over 9 years (between ex-partner and current partner). I am under my third fertility clinic (first was just to get diagnosed). Now on the waiting list for IVF. I tried to remain optimistic and believed that I may be able to do it myself, but the past couple of days I came to the conclusion that I can't. Now just have to wait for the next part of the journey!

@PT8998 I'm really sorry to hear that but you have to stay positive and optimistic! I've recently discovered a podcast called Fearlessly fertile and they person talks about how she struggled with fertility for many years and finally ended up conceiving naturally at 43. It's all about the power of the mind. Maybe check it out if your interested 😊 have you tried acupuncture for fertility as I've heard that can help and I might try it myself too. Xx

PT8998 · 27/06/2020 16:13

@Fran2020 it’s okay! I’m just so used to it now! I am optimistic and I am still positive overall, that’s why I’m so okay about stepping back and letting nature take its course for now. I don’t ovulate naturally, and I was taking letrozole and I thought it may have Kickstarted something... but I am starting to think maybe not. Or it did, and we just weren’t lucky this cycle. I won’t know, unless AF shows! I have heard of that podcast before, I may have to have a listen. I have also heard of so many people recommend “it starts with an egg”, but some of the reviews makes me think I already know most of it (I’m in a lot of infertility/PCOS groups and most of the same info in that book floats around in them groups). But I may still give it a try. I have also heard of acupuncture. I looked into it then Covid hit. I have a few friends/colleagues who do acupuncture, so I was going to ask if they could look into the specific lines they follow and they could do it for me. If not, I’ll possibly book it in privately just before I do IVF as the evidence points towards it being beneficial for pre-ivf patients 😁🤞🏼 Xx

@PT8998 That's good, I'm glad you're optimistic 😊 TTC is such a minefield, really didn't think it would be like this. Hmm yeah you've probably heard all the information around different aspects! I've booked myself in for an acupuncture session when the person near me is allowed to start back up again in July so I'm looking forward to that! I'd try anything and it might get me feeling more relaxed which would be good. 🤞🏼xx

PT8998 · 27/06/2020 23:47

@Fran2020 thank you sweet! I am keen to try the fertility acupuncture. There is a place just down the road from me, so I’ll enquire as soon as I know it’s safe to do so. I pose a risk too, as I work in the NHS... so I have to think about others and the reverse infection control too!
I hope it works for you, even to destress you! It’s all helpful whilst TTC!

My boobs are getting incredibly sore tonight. Seems AF is on the way 😩 xx

Hi ladies, I hope you are well. I was in the same boat as you but now nearly 21 weeks. If you have any questions let me know, happy to let you know what I tried.

PT8998 · 28/06/2020 13:54

@mellymoo86 I feel like my period is about to start. My boobs are sore and I’m getting a headache/sore head today.

What were your symptoms at the start of your pregnancy? And what did you try? I have PCOS, so things are a little harder for me generally!

OP posts:
mellymoo86 · 28/06/2020 14:52

@PT8998 My first symptoms were sore boobs (I never get sore boobs) and then I had vivid dreams. That was from around 8DPO. I've fallen pregnant 3 times before this one and miscarried early so they were all exactly the same. By around 10DPO a CB and FRER would pick up a line and around that time I would see spotting/little bit of blood.

I was trying for 5 months. I took coq10 tablets and prenatal tablets. Hubby was on zitawest vitamins. I'd stick my legs up for around 20 mins after sex and also immediately put in a soft cup for around 6-8 hours.

That's about it. I tracked ovulation and we had sex every other day during that period. I was tracking temp but gave up eventually as it was to annoying to keep on top of. I hated testing with cheapies so only tested with FRER and CB from 10DPO onwards. I read a study that said that 9DPO was the main highest implantation day if it was going to happen and for me that happened every single time.

PT8998 · 28/06/2020 15:38

@mellymoo86 thanks girly!

This is what I take;
Pregnacare
Myoinositol powder
Vitamin e
Vitamin d3
Vitamin B+
CoQ10
NAC
Omega 369
I was taking evening primrose oil but stopped after someone said something about miscarriage so I was too scared to take it 😂
My partner takes
pregnacare (his ha)
Coq10
Omega 369
Vitamin B+

I use OPK’s, which I know aren’t the most reliable for PCOS, but they have been consistent for me. I have tried BBT so many times, but likewise I hate it!! It’s so difficult for me to maintain it.

I usually have booby symptoms before AF, but as I’m TTC my first child, I don’t know if I’d have it as a preggo symptom too. I’ve had some vivid dreams (weird ones too, and some sex dreams 😫), the groin pain and twinges mentioned in this thread, stuffy nose (could be hayfever, but I don’t think it is - it feels different), last week I felt like I was coming down with a cold and I’ve been exhausted the past 7-10 days. I’ve only tested with the FRER (which was 12/13DPO depending on which app you follow) and two straggler wondfo’s that I had left in the cupboard. This was the FRER and wondfo’s. All look negative!

I am now 13/14DPO today.

@PT8998 doesn't the pregnacare supplements have a lot of the other vitamins in it? Or do you have to take a higher dose?

Hmm the thing is a high level of progesterone is in your blood around this time whether you are pregnant or not and it gives you similar symptoms (I know it's a bitch) so sometimes it's hard to tell. I guess what I tried to do was think back to when I wasn't ttc and think would these symptoms ring any alarms bells, if it doesn't I'd disregard it. You just tend to focus on EVERYTHING when you're ttc which is easy to do.

PT8998 · 28/06/2020 15:53

@mellymoo86 pregnacare does, but it’s not always the recommended dose from the evidence. I have looked up the levels recommended for PCOS and pregnacare meets some requirements but not others. So I match them. Extras I take because I don’t get much from diet. For example the Omega, I don’t eat fish at all (🤢) and although I eat a lot of good stuff I’m such a fussy eater!! So I have tried to over supplement in some regards haha!

Yeah progesterone has an awful lot to answer for. It also doesn’t help that I have such long cycles due to the PCOS that I forget what I felt like last time. So things are obvious trends and other things are new with each cycle. I do feel like my AF symptoms are quite strong at the moment, so that’s where my money is at. But with PCOS, anything is possible!! I did focus on everything before, but this time round I have chilled out a little. All these symptoms I have only just noticed as I thought about them. I’m doing my best to not symptom spot, as such, as it’s only ever led to disappointment in the past.

@PT8998 I'm really keen to try it too as I've heard some good things about it. Ahh yeah, make sure it's safe. Thank you, anything to distress me would be perfect! I've been doing a 15 min fertility yoga session each morning for the last few weeks which has been nice.

How are you feeling today? Xx

PT8998 · 29/06/2020 21:06

@Fran2020 yes, it can’t help. Even if it’s a placebo, it could be helpful in many other ways. Even indirect help is important. Ah lovely 🙂. I tried a 20 mins yoga session on the Nike app, even though it was for beginners, I almost snapped my hamstrings. So it wasn’t very relaxing 😂

I’m okay thank you! Boobs are still sore, but no AF yet. I am 14/15DPO at the moment, but I believe I have 16 day luteal phases. So I am expecting period tomorrow or Wednesday I guess? I went armed to work with multiple sanitary towels and tampons.... just incase!

How are you? Xx

I've had something similar! I'm currently 7 DPO and on 4DPO, I had a twinge on my left side all day which suddenly turned into a shooting pain in my lower abdomen. At first I thought it was trapped gas so took some home remedies. That didn't help. Following night (5 DPO) painful sex. Never ever felt pain before. And ever since I've had sort of like pressure in my lower abdomen which I can only feel if I press centrally. I've had milky discharge but not a lot. Did a first response which was negative yesterday Doctors wanted to do a smear test and swab for an infection (I have no signs of an infection other than this pressure) but I've planned that for after my period, if it arrives
Fran2020 · 14/07/2020 08:51

@PT8998 Sorry I didn't reply to you! How are you doing? Oh dear, that wasn't good about that yoga session!

I had my first session of fertility acupuncture last week and really enjoyed it, felt so relaxing too. Got my next session tomorrow! Can't wait! I'm currently about 5DPO in cycle 13. Xx

Fran2020 · 14/07/2020 08:53

@smmbh How are you feeling now?

PT8998 · 15/07/2020 21:15

@Fran2020 hey! Not too bad. I am now CD14 of this new cycle. Not really expecting anything, anytime soon as I have longer cycles.

I hope you have success with this cycle! 🤞🏼 Xx

@Fran2020 ah no! I am so sorry sweet! I think I may have just ovulated? I got a positive OPK on Thursday. So here’s to hoping! I am fully expecting that I haven’t (I don’t bbt) and it’ll be in about another 15 days or so! I have everything crossed for your next cycle 💫💕 xxx
