Unable to conceive after d&c.

I had a molar pregnancy two years ago after falling pregnant straight away, we weren't trying and had had unprotected sex the once. I miscarried and the following month when my period would have been due I had very heavy bleeding and severe pain and I was taken to hospital. They found that I hadn't passed all of the tissue from the pregnancy and I was taken in for a d&c. They didn't say that I'd had an infection but did say that the surgery went well and I was sent home. We've now been trying to conceive for around a year and nothing is happening. I'm having normal periods, they've always been painful but they're the same as they were before the d&c.
I've read that it's not normal for someone who fell pregnant relatively easily to not be able to conceive after a d&c. Could it be likely that I have uterine scarring preventing me from getting pregnant? I was convinced that it must be that but because I'm having normal periods each month I'm just confused. Any advice or thoughts would be really appreciated x

Morning lovely, how are you?
I’m sorry you went through that.
I think the first things to ask are how old are you and how long have you been trying x

I got it wrong - it was two months after I'd miscarried that I was taken to hospital. I'd actually had a normal period after the miscarriage.

@Boomclaps Thank you for replying, I'm 24 and we've been trying for around 10/11 months x

So honestly at your age, you won’t really be a cause for concern until a year, and anything up to 2 years is fairly normal.
It took me years to fall pregnant with my first, but only a one off this time. Have you make an appointment with your Gp to discuss? And are you tracking cycle etc x

@Boomclaps I'm contacting my gp tomorrow but they're only doing phone appointments at the moment. I just can't stop worrying that something might be wrong. Me and my partner have said that we will wait until it's been a year, but I heard that if you'd had previous pelvic surgery you should see a gp after 6 months. I could be wrong though. I'm tracking using the Flo app, opks and going to start tracking with bbt this month I think. We've been doing smep, using preseed, taking vitamins etc xx

I conceived DC1 on our second month of trying; when we tried for DC2 it took four months, that pregnancy ended in a miscarriage and I also had a D&C for retained tissue. It then took me nearly a year to conceive again. Like you, I convinced myself that I must have some uterine scarring from the D&C and underwent private tests with a specialist, but all was fine. I’m not saying it’s not a possibility, but it is very unlikely that that’s the reason why it’s taking you longer this time round. A friend who is a gynae consultant told me she’s never seen a case of scarring following a D&C in her career, so I believe it is very rare.

@Metalhead thank you this makes me feel a lot calmer 🙏🏻 I've just been reading about uterine scarring and it seems that if the scarring is significant enough to affect fertility it would be significant enough to change menstrual flow etc so I'm going to try and stay positive and focus on the fact that I'm still having regular periods and that's a really good sign.. congratulations on falling pregnant again xx
