Trying to conceive 2nd child with pcos

Hi just wondering if anyone could help me and share their own experiences?
I have a 2 years old DS who was conceived after using 6 cycles of clomid due to me having pcos. I haven't used birth control since having DS and have had regularish cycles which have ranged from 31-45 days ever since he was born. Before becoming pregnant i had periods maybe 3 or 4 times a year if that.
We are now on 3rd cycle of actively trying for #2 and wondered if anyone had had experience of needing clomid to concieve 1st child and falling pregnant naturally with 2nd?
I presumed things may be easier this time due to having monthly(ish) cycles now but then read things about longer cycles possibly being anovulatory? I have ewcm and an lh surge each cycle but know these can occur without ovulation too.
Any info much appreciated!
Thankyou

Yes me! 10 clomid rounds to get DS and just doing a clomid round for 2nd baby which doesn't look like it's worked. It's so depressing 😒

Thanks for you're reply! Every cycle seems like a life time doesn't it! Was really hoping we could do it naturally this time but feeling less positive about it the more time goes on and the more I read about it 😐

Hi ladies

I’m in the same boat but trying tamoxifen (a milder form of clomid which is friendlier on the ovaries) next month. I only want to try a month before fastracking to ivf. Are you both taking vitamins?

I’m tracking via OPKs too and had a messed up cycle - peaked at CD 27 which has never happened before!

I usually get my lh surge around day 20 give or take and then get my period about 15 days later so I did presume I am ovulating but does still worry me they could be anovulatory as there longer than the average! Really didn't want to have to go through taking the medication again this time 😶
Iv been taking pregnacare for the past few months

I've only ovulated once in the last 12 months and OPKs just don't seem to show anything clear cut. I'm currently taking myo-inositol, vitamin D, magnesium, zinc DHEA and evening primrose oil. Can't see that it's done much. I'm also on 1500mg metformin too.
My last cycle was 215 days and I had to take Provera to bring on my period so I could start this clomid cycle that doesn't seem to have worked Sad

I'm in the same boat! Managed to conceive my DD naturally but think my pcos has got worse, is that possible? Been trying for number 2 for 18 months and my cycles are either super short or super long, and not much of a period a lot of the time.

Hoping to get clomid next month but I am not sure if it will work. Can't afford IVF eirher!

Wrigleys123 · 11/06/2020 23:07

@YouBoggleMyMind that must be so frustrating to have to wait that long for a period, I'd be demented for sure!

YouBoggleMyMind · 11/06/2020 23:33

When we were TTC the first time, I'd gone over 12 months without a period. I just didn't have them. I was diagnosed in 2011 but it didn't matter so much then and I'd heard loads of stories about women having no issues getting pregnant with PCOS but I've literally had no luck what so ever. I think they'll always be a chip on my shoulder about it. Particularly as the same thing is now happening again for number 2. We have got one more round after this and then it's private treatment Sad

I hope it works for you, fingers crossed!

YouBoggleMyMind · 11/06/2020 23:54

Thank you.
Where are you in your journey?

YouBoggleMyMind · 11/06/2020 23:56

Sorry I've just re read and you're hoping to start clomid. Have you tried metformin?

Wrigleys123 · 12/06/2020 00:01

No worries! Yes I tried it for a few months but it didn't do anything, however I had conflicting advice from the hospital with one doctor saying it wouldn't work for me as I'm slim and only PCO and not PCOS and another doctor recommending it.

My DD is 4 and the baby stage seems terrifying now! I never would have wished for a 5 year age gap but hey ho Grin
