I don't have periods, I haven't done for two years except for a couple of odd ones last July and January just past.

I'm not on any birth control and we'd like to start TCC, but I have no idea when I ovulate as I have no cycle!

Any ideas?

I would start with a visit to your GP OP. It's not "normal" to not have periods and before TTC you need to get to the bottom of why. Good luck!

@Literaryseed I've been the GO a few times, all my bloods are normal and they seem unwilling to investigate any further, not sure what else to do

Hello 👋🏻 you could also start using a fertility app, something like fertility friend to start tracking cervical mucus and mood etc. People also use it to plot temperature (google bbt) and opk tests (again google if you're unfamiliar). It's a great way of understanding your cycles and how long they might be. Sometimes when you're focusing on it more you notice lots of things that help you understand when you might ovulate. Good luck with docs xxx

Hey @mrsunicorn1807 - your GP does not sound very useful!

Have a google for reasons for your period being so irregular and consider if any apply (for example are you underweight or v overweight?).

Work on your overall health in moderation - eat well, do moderate exercise, don't smoke or drink, reduce caffeine. Try to relax (mindfulness? A nice book in the sun each day?). Start taking folic acid and Vitamin D.

In term of understanding your cycle, consider one of the apps that uses basal body temperature and discharge quality to predict ovulation and period. You can also buy ovulation testing strips really cheaply online - If you do one every day it will give you an idea of if you ovulate at all.

Have unprotected sex every 2 days at least, means you are more likely to hit any fertile window you have.

But I would 1000% recommend pushing your GP more - the NHS says you need exploration and intervention if the time between your periods is over 35 days ESPECIALLY if you are trying to get pregnant. Super long and irregular cycles will make it more difficult to conceive, as it's really unknown at the moment when you ovulate/if you ovulate.

Good luck with it all! I'm about to approach my GP as my periods havent come back after being on oral contraception (now 65 days later) and I dont seem to be ovulating at all!

@Kangaroo77 okay thanks! I've been doing BBT/OPKs on and off but admittedly not enough to track, I can guess when my period should be so it at least gives me a rough idea but would be nice to know for sure

@TheDaydreamBelievers I think my age is a factor - to them I'm only 25. So basically I took rigevidon for a couple of years of so and didn't like it so tried the implant which was even worse and eventually landed for the copper coil. I had that in and it was fine but it was having a weird effect on my periods so March 2018 I had it taken out, they said it could be 6 months before my cycles went back to normal, realistically I thought 12 which was fine. I've had nothing except two since.

I'm slightly overweight but I have a fairly healthy lifestyle, I don't smoke, rarely drink, I have a reasonably balanced diet. I've looked at amenorrhea but the only thing that fits would be that my anxiety is causing this which would suck because that's going nowhere fast.

I'll push with my GP, but I'm going to be more focused with the BBT/OPK testing and DTD every two days and just keep everything crossed
