We have been TTC our second baby for 4 months with no luck so far (including 1 chemical at 4 weeks). We are both 24, don't smoke, don't drink, healthy weights, eat healthily and pretty much do EVERYTHING by the book.

We conceived our son (now 3 years old) in the second month of TTC after 1 chemical. I think I thought the second would be just as easy but I'm getting really tired of it now Sad.

Did you do anything differently when you conceived successfully?

I don't want to waste money on ovulation tests as each month, we have made sure that we have done the deed every day after finishing my period to be sure that we don't miss the day (this is what worked for our first baby). So missing the fertile period is not a problem. I am also monitoring CM so do have an idea of when I am ovulating.

I don't know what we are doing differently/wrong. If there are any remedies that support conception or vitamins (ANYTHING) then please share! I have been taking my daily folic acid during our time trying and co tongue to do so.

How old is your first baby? Are you breastfeeding? Are your cycles regular?

Four months isn't really long enough to worry about, a lot of people take much longer to conceive. But if you were using ovulation tests or temping then you would have a better idea of when you actually are ovulating. You don't have to use the expensive Clearblue tests. The cheap strip tests you can get on Amazon are just as good. I use the Easy@home ones and they're cheap as chips. I would recommend either doing that or tracking your basal body temperature. But doing either of these things will set you back about £10-15 for a box of cheap ovulation tests or a basal body temperature thermometer.

If your periods are regular and you're not breastfeeding and you are observing clear changes in your cycle (e.g. cervical mucus) then you probably are ovulating and it's just a matter of time.

One more thing. Sometimes when the man has a low-ish sperm count you might have more luck if you have sex every other day, to give his sperm the chance to regenerate. Maybe try that?

For me, it was not having sex every day but every other day instead.

yeah we used to do every other day aswell. also, I really started looking after myself - no caffeine, lots of water, eating properly, didnt smoke etc. all those things and it took me 4 months.

previous pregnancy (sadly ended in mmc) took 10 months.

it really can vary how long it takes, dont forget even doing everything right at your age you still only have about a 30 percent chance every month.

it's very encouraging you already have a child aswell
