Ovulation Testing

Hi all,
I hope you are hanging in there during lockdown!
Looking for a little advice as I lost my mum when I was young and my partner doesn't have contact with his mother.
We have been trying to get pregnant 6 months or so without any luck. I had a laparoscopy in January to remove endometriosis cells. I am now being tested for possible early menopause. However I have been logging my cycle and did an ovulation test yesterday which showed a positive result (although the positive line was SLIGHTLY lighter than the control window line). Therefore today I tested again and the result line was really faint. Does this mean that my LH levels were not high enough to be ovulating normally?

I have had to go with a private consultant due to COVID and if I can save myself the £100 I would like to do that! Grin

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks!
S

If you catch the surge the line would definitely be as dark or darker. I found evening was the best time to catch it if using the little cheapie sticks, if I'd have done other times of day I would have missed it so it's possible you did too?

If you can afford it I'd recommend one cycle of the clear blue digital ovulation tests, I found it really helpful to not have to guess and they test something else as well as LH and can give more information which I found really helpful. Good luck OP!!

Bear in mind the surge can be really short (think 4h) so if you weren't testing frequently enough you could easily have missed it. Also - all it takes is for your wee to be a bit too diluted and it could affect the strength of your result line.

I'm thinking you probably ovulated and missed it so wouldn't worry about that aspect. I suggest you start using bbt for tracking as it might be more accurate for you than lh tests.

Ahh thank you both so much, you have made me feel so much better. I agree I think I must have missed it whilst sleeping (working from home using the bed as a desk is not the smartest of ideas! Constantly napping between meetings haha Grin)
