I avoided the pill after having my DC as I didn't want to take hormones while breastfeeding. Is that the reason why your husband is against it? It is your decision after all, not his!

Condoms will be ok. You can always talk to your doctor/midwife and get their advice too.

I had the coil last time round just for an easy life. Pregnant again now and haven't thought that far ahead yet but will probably do the same again.

@mamansnet yeah hes concerned about that and also we had a miscarriage when I came off it and hes just paranoid that they are not good for my body and I am really scared of having a coil or injections lol hopefully condoms will be safe enough

Chat with your midwife, you should be given plenty of info to make the right choice for you. Condoms obviously aren’t super reliable - you could consider a mini pill(progesterone only) which is different from the usual pill, and better for breastfeeding. Coils and implants are also pretty straightforward, can be done very soon after delivery and then you can just forget about it which is convenient! you may find you like one of those option if you do a little more reading around it. Also have a look at breastfeeding contraception method which can work well for the first few months.

I've always had the implant, just a little stick in your arm which lasts 3 years plus for me added bonus of stopping my af. I've had 3 all together and all went perfectly and side effects was non existent. Made life easy for me, no remember to take pills or calling gp for appointment for injections and never having to worry if I had enough condoms. Explore your options, I'm sure you will find something to suit you x

DD is 6 and I wasn’t on any form of contraception after having her. She was conceived whilst I was on the pill so didn’t want to use that again. We used a combination of condoms and the pull out method (I know it’s not a fail proof method). When we decided to TTC DC2, it took us 13 cycles. I’ll probably do the same after this one is born in September.
