Hi
I would like advice and thoughts please.
I have two children age 13 and 14. I had retained placenta haemorrhage after both births, first one was severe and had emergency evacuation on the bed as bleeding was so heavy...there was no time to get me to theatre...... it was a very frightening time and horrendous pain. Second birth they gave me an injection so my placenta did pass eventually but I needed blood transfusions after both deliveries.
I am now 41 and with a new partner. I would really like another child but I’m very worried this will happen again, and if I went into premature labour I may not get to the hospital in time and I would just bleed out. I am my children’s only parent and I’m worried if something happens to me.
Is it too risky to have another baby? Am I too old?

In the nicest way, this is really a question for a medical professional. It sounds like you had very serious complications which were luckily managed the second time. Although I doubt you will be able to see someone in person atm, you could have a telephone consultation with your GP.
